Hi, I'm Victoria, and I'm 32 years old. I am a fifth grade gifted teacher in Florida and am in my eleventh year of teaching. I love my job, but with stringent expectations put upon us in the field, I have gained a bit of weight in just over a decade. I hope to lose about 35-40 pounds; I currently weigh 171.5.

Excited to find teachers... feel free to add me. =)

I work with seventh graders right now but in the afternoons I move to a Kindergarten class. I feel like the younger grades are harder because there are always birthday snacks and holiday parties.

In my 15th year of teaching... currently in New Zealand teaching English (47 y.o. and in maintenance after a 16 pound loss).
  • I'm a supply teacher. Usually K-3 but have done all levels. My biggest issue is that it's hard to work out after spending all day on my feet. I just want to crash at the end of the day. Maybe the exhaustion wouldn't hit so hard if I had my own regular room rather than being thrust into new situations each day. But perhaps it would be worse because then I'd have to prep and deal with parents and administrators haha.

I teach middle school music -- I'm in my ninth year of teaching! Teacher friends, free to add me :)
  • Hi! I'm in my 29th year of teaching in Canada. I've taught Kindergarten through to Gr. 8 in the classroom. Out of the classroom, I've taught special education and library. Recently I decided to make the move to high school to teach spec. ed. at the secondary level. I teach students with autism and I love it! We have the best job in the world because each year is a fresh start. I have loved the opportunity to change grades/ positions etc. This has kept my career fun and interesting.
Teaching however, does present challenges for weight loss. Drinking water when we can't exit the room when needed is one major one.

I'm a high school Spanish teacher and am in my 25th year. Today is my birthday and I turned 53. I feel so much healthier than 2 years ago when I started taking care of myself. I was down 52 pounds, but this last semester I lost focus with the stress of school.

I am the department lead and the district finally agreed to hire another teacher to help with our huge class loads. The problem was that they would only agree to hire a long term sub! It took 6 weeks to find someone who would agree to this and I had to make sure that those six classes had lessons and grades. Then, right before Thanksgiving, one of my teacher's was arrested for public lewdness (sex with an adult in a park!!) and resigned, Again, I was responsible for making sure his 4 classes had lessons and grades. Fortunately, I have a great team of teachers who stepped up to help with all of this mess.
So, since September, I put on 10 pounds!

I restarted my regular exercise routine last week with Jillian Michaels' Body Revolution. I had already completed 30 Day Shred (twice) and Ripped in 30 (once) and had great results. I have a love/hate relationship with Jillian.

My goal is to FINALLY reach my goal weight this year. That means I have 15-20 pounds to go.

    You can do this!!

I teach at a Reggio-inspired Montessori preschool. I'm currently working with infants, but I've worked with children infancy through 8th grade. I still need to go back to school to get my license for K-6, but I have no idea when / how that will happen. ;) Feel free to add me!
