you could look into strengthening it.0

Yeah, could be a weak back or weak core.
You could try swimming instead. Or something like tai chi.0 -
please keep going and instead of walking on treadmill, you could try sitting on a static cycle with back support or swimming (where you are supported in the water)0

Hi Junior - I feel your pain - quite literally. I'm a big guy with plenty of mass on the front of my body, and walking a mile at lunch makes my back sore. What I've learned from some physical therapy and reading, and such is that I have a weak core and weak glutes, making it hard for my pelvis to sit neutral. For me i'm working on a program to strengthen those areas while stretching the hips/quads and low back. As my pelvis starts to sit a bit more neutral (instead of tilting forward) its amazing how nicely my body stacks up on top of it.
If interested, not from the technical standpoint, but the plain illustration of what i'm fighting with (and what might help you too) this is a great little site -

Hope it helps, if not, hey- i tried!

Do you have the treadmill flat or on an incline? I have a back issue and was told not to walk on an incline as it is hard on it.0

i am the opposite. i find that a very slight incline *such as set on 1.5 on my treadmill* helps my back feel a bit better. walking flat hurts my back a bit. (i have an old lower back injury)
