My brother and husband aren't really on the weight loss kick that I'm on.... so I was just wondering to anyone who's in the same situation that I'm in.....

What do you guys do for a Sunday Family Dinner? We all try to have dinner on Sundays as a family to reconnect since we all work different schedules and see how each other's been doing.... but before, I was going to KFC and getting the buckets of chicken and mashed potatoes..... and I'm looking for healthier alternatives, preferably to cook on my own since I LOVE cooking and baking.

Thanks so much for whatever you can suggest!

What about doing a baked chicken instead of fried, or a veggie lasagna.

Even if stuck with a less than healthly meal you have the power to control your serving size. Say if Lasanga, have a small piece, skip the garlic bread and if any veggies or salad, load up on those, just watch the dressing.

For things you can cook, try baked chicken or pork chops. Serve with veggies and fruit and no starch! (Remember corn and peas are really starches) If you have to do a potato or rice, just skip it! Any leftover veggies or fruit can be snacks for you during the week! Lean cuts of beef are also good and fish is great for you.

Just stay away from the KFC!!! LOL!

    You can do!

I discovered "turkey meatloaf' . I use ground turkey meat instead of ground beef. Lots of herbs and what ever you make meat loaf to taste.

And, instead of making a loaf, use one of those texas muffin tins. So its portion controlled. I usually go to town on the meat loaf as if it was one serving, so this seems to help me. Also, meat muffins !!!

But they are good enough to share with the meat eater / not dieters in my family. Best part is, they don't even know they're eating healthier.
