Hey Guys,
Wondering if you could help me.
I am looking for my Ideal weight, as I have looked at a few websites with calculations and it show that the ideal weight for my height and age is: 121lbs - 159 (Give or take)
Could anyone tell me how to calculate this, 121LBS is extremely low for an adult male of 170CM to be honest. I currently weigh 135.80lbs roughly and would like to know the ideal weight that I should be for an Adult Male, 21 Years of Age at 5ft 7 (170cm).
Your replies are greatly appreciated.
Patrick

According to the BMI chart here at work it says that the top healthy weight for your height and weight is 140. I think you are at it now. 121lbs is toooo smalll!!0

Thanks for your reply. I have been using MFP for over a year now, first when I started my goal weight was 154Lbs. When I had reached this, my goal then became 147 and as you guessed upon reaching this, i continued to loose weight to a goal weight of 140 which even my family and all (including myself) had agreed that this was too low for a healthy adult male (as it did make me look very thin (having a small build)). BUT as you have guessed again, after reaching 140 i was still unhappy with my appearance (even sometimes knowing that i am too thin, but still sometimes seeing the "fat" me) I am continuing to loose weight, it is dropping off me. I feel that I have to stop using MFP, stop walking so much and eating so little.
At the moment, I am walking 7 days per week, approx 6 - 7 Kms per day, which is around 300KCals burning per day and eating 1400Kcals per day.
I am considering counselling regarding this as calorie counting has become an obsession to me and I would like to stop, I am very unhappy at the moment, very. I wasn't particularly happy when I was heavy, but now it seems that I am more unhappy being thin. My obsession every day is food, think of food constantly, always scared to eat, scared of what I have to eat... I'm even fearing my holidays in June and July with my Girlfriend because we will be eating in the hotel.
I thank MFP for helping me loose so much weight in the first year, but i also despise the website for now I am obsessed and unable to leave, and I am constantly tracking EVERY thing i eat. I think my first step would be to delete the iphone application.
Sorry to hijack my own thread with a completely different topic, but i really need help!
Thanks,

I would say it would depend on your body fat %, not your BMI, If I went by the BMI charts i would have to lose about 80-90 lbs of muscle to be in my healthy BMI. I would say shoot for about 15% Body Fat. I currently have about 180 lbs of lean muscle and am the same height as you. So if I weighed 120 with 100 lbs of lean mass, would put me in the healthy BMI and BF%. That ain't gonna happen. I am shooting for about 200lbs for myself.0
