Losing too slow?

Hi all,
I'm not really using MFP due to the database being a mess, but I do use the principles of calories in vs out and read the forums occasionally. With that I managed to lose 10kg and maintained for a while. Come December I decided to lose a bit more weight and continued as before, but my weight loss is a lot slower than before. Please note: I'm weighing and logging everything that goes into my mouth and contains calories. Here's some stats:

Female
40 years old
This morning 63.6kg (fluctuating btw. 63.2 (last Friday)-63.8kg (yesterday) over last week) , came from 75kg, Maintained at around 64.8-65.
Maintained at 1660kcal
Various calculators give me 1360kcal for 250grams loss per week. However, my average over these last 36 days was a deficit of 322 plus whatever workouts I did. As I have no way of quantifying the calorie expenditure of my workouts (bodyweight exercises mainly) I don't count them. I suppose they're around 150kcal per session, being pessimistic.

Thus basically, I should be nearer to a 2kg weight loss now, while I'm only at 1.2-1.4kg loss. Previously it was a little bit faster with the same regime and slightly higher target calories due to a slightly higher weight. The only thing that really changed is that I'm taking some Vitamin B12 tablets since mid December as I was seriously close to a pernicious anaemia. I'm also taking other supplements due to my minerals and vitamins being a mess, mainly due to some food allergies, but for longer already.

Can someone please set my head straight or offer some advise?

Depending on your body fat level, it might be normal. For example - when I'm above 20% body fat, I can easily lose 2lbs/week or sometimes more if I want. Once I get around 12-14% and below, it comes off MUCH slower. If you had 100lbs to lose, the last 20lbs would probably take almost as long as the first 80 unless you starve yourself and do hours of cardio every day. Don't worry too much, just make sure you look better in the mirror week after week. Weight loss isn't linear, so don't stress. Good luck! :)
  • Hey, thanks a lot!
I doubt I'd be anyway near a low bodyfat percentage with a BMI of around 22.2. I do have a very wide pelvis, shoulders and rib cage and have some muscles, thus I don't know... Due to the wide bone structure and my fat being mainly on my legs and hips I want to lose a bit more. I still don't find trousers I fit in and look good

As you get closer and closer to a healthy weight it is much harder to lose at a fast rate. Within 20 lb of that, you should be aiming for 1 lb a week loss at the most, if not 1/2 lb.
  • Thanks all. I think I should really stop panicking about weight fluctuations! For the last three weeks my weight has been fluctuating more than anytime during losing the first 12kg, and it freaks me out.

Three days ago it was 63.8 (really panicked I'd go to 64 again) up from 63.1 two days earlier, then 63.6, and now 63.1. This pattern has been repeating itself for three weeks now, only some 100 grams lower each time if I was lucky. I should relax, right?

The annoying thing is: I'm at a healthy weight already but not much changed on my trouser size (42 to 40 if I'm lucky) even though I lost quite some cm everywhere, including there (8.8cm thigh, 11.5cm pelvis, 5.3cm calves). Maybe I should put it on the current fashion of skinny trousers and especially those tight lower trouser legs.

Are you seeing an actual doctor about the anemia and allergy issues? If you aren't, see one. If you are, forget the question. There's some confusing stuff in that third paragraph, but if you're doing what the doctor said, I'm sure it's totally cool.

Weight loss slows down as you go. The more you lose, the harder it gets. There is a natural halt for many people that hits about six months into it. Many experts will recommend you just take a break from losing for a while and then go back to losing a few months later. Not hey seem to find that people lose easier after taking a break. So, maybe try that? I dunno.

I am 8lbs away from goal and it has slowed down. I had a good week this week, mainly because all the water from the holidays came off, but before that it was barely 0.4lbs. One week I even lost 0.2lbs. Don't let it stress you.
