Okay so I currently weigh 182 pounds and have been eating 1200 Cal per day but I just looked and it has advised that I eat 1456 Cal a day. I am struggling to eat 1200 let alone 1456. Should I stick with what I am doing or go for more? If you also need height I am 5ft 2

If you don't feel hungry, then there's no need to eat more.
The higher calorie intake is advised to make sure that you're not starving yourself and thus setting yourself up for failure.0 -
That's great. Doe that go for men too? My boyfriend is doing this with me and feels his is too high too. He's been given 2000 a day0

Open up your food diary and you will receive some advice on how to up your calories without feeling bloated. If you are exercising a lot you'd probably best be eating more than 1200 cals.
Are you getting sufficient good fats in your food intake?0 -
Yes I seem to be.
I have a desk job and its dark when I get back at nights. but I am going to go out for a walk most nights after dinner. I'm also looking to work out on the weekends is that enough?0 -
Just keep an eye on your weight. If you start losing weight too fast you should up your calories slightly. Slow weight loss helps minimize muscle loss, as well as keeping loose skin to a minimum if you have a lot to lose.
Also, you technically don't have to work out at all if you are in a calorie deficit, but strength training helps minimize muscle loss and increases fat loss. You don't want to end up "skinny fat."0 -
Same for men. If you both feel full at lower calories, that's fine. The only problem that eating too little will cause is muscle loss. Just make sure you're getting at least 1200 kcal and enough protein0

Hi,
Im 5ft 1 and started at 181lbs back in april 2013...as of today im 132lbs and sitting in the healthy zone of the bmi scale!
When I first started I had my calories set to lose 1lb a week as I didnt want to lose too fast...now im losing about half a pound a week!
Just stick at it..it takes a while to notice changes but do not let this deter you...you will get there in the end! One thing that I would advise is be very strict about weighing your food...it doesnt matter how much we think we can guess what we are eating..we tend to underestimate ALOT lol.
Good luck
