I have an obscure eating disorder, so taste and texture are very important when I shop - I'm good with Jarrow Unflavored Protein Powder (2lb at Amazon is around $20 - there's a sale right now, too!). It still has a bit of a flavor, but it's not any sort of disgusting HEY! I'M CHOCOLATE FLAVORED!!! or whatever. I mix it with Hershey syrup or Ovaltine, milk and some PB2 and it's great. Smooth, not gritty or funky (I've returned EAS Soy Protein for that reason). Good luck!

I'm extremely picky about protein powder. I tried about six different ones before I found a brand I like. I use two BSN Syntha-6 protein powders in chocolate cake batter and banana cream. They aren't the cheapest ones available, but they do turn up on sale from time to time on Amazon and eBay. I really can't handle the taste of the cheaper brands, so my personal philosophy is that you get what you pay for.

I like Designer Whey French Vanilla - it's not too expensive at Amazon, and my local Trader Joe's sells it too.

Designer Whey - lots of flavors, not too bad priced and pretty easy to locate - my local grocery store even sells it. It tastes good too!

Thanks I'll look into these :)
  • If organic, grass fed whey is a priority of yours, be prepared to pay a lot. But the kind I drink (Teraswhey) is great

Be careful what protein your buying. Majority of the cheap ones are being amino spiked. So the amount of protein it says, its possible its much lower then that per serving. Just something to remember. You get what you pay for.

That's the problem, I have biox power whey right now and used cellucor they just get expensive after awhile just looking for suggestions . I know walmart proteins such as sixstar ans body fortress are no good . But biox where I am is alright priced for what it's worth I don't rely on it just want to make sure I'm at least putting something good into my body

Sams club sells a Muscletech protein powder for $35.99 I think for a 5lb bag which isn't spiked. If you have one in your area. Its what I buy when I don't have the budget for MTS Nutrition protein.

I agree shipping from tigerfitness is high. But its a great product and the owner is my coach so I rep it haha. Read labels is the best way. A lot of them had to change there product because of lawsuits. If you have any in mind you can message me and I can find out for ya

I've had them all except the mint cookies and crème. Regular cookies and crème is probably my favorite.

Unfortunately optimum nutrition and my body don't agree , I had a bad reaction to it, tried it several times every time it gives me rashes all over my forearms I thought it may have been food or something else but I tried it a few more times and the same thing

PVL Essentials ISO Sport Whey (HAS TO be the ISO version) is about $40 for 25ish servings.

Super low lactose content (lactose intolerant here can drink it no problem).
Made in Canada with all natural ingredients.
One of the cleanest whey powders out there: "Users include the BC Lions and other CFL players; NHLers from Vancouver to Montreal and across the US; Olympic athletes; players in the NFL; Formulated without ingredients banned by the IOC, WADA, NHL, NFL, CFL, NBA, MLB, NCAA."
I've only read a couple of reviews that complain and its mainly about the taste (I can only believe these are coming from people who live on high fructose corn syrup because it tastes plenty sweet and chocolatey to most everyone else) It shakes or blends up super smooth like a delicious chocolate milkshake, there is absolutely no gritty texture at all. I like it best with some kind of nut milk.

Don't trust me though, do your own research. I have always been forever wary of whey protein powders and have never trusted any before now (so many actually outright LIE about the contents right on their packaging, it's insane!)
This protein powder was recommended to me by someone whom I trust very much (plus I did my own research on it) and it really is amazing. I've only tried the chocolate though so I can't speak for any other flavours.

I believe muscle milk was busted for spiking protein as well. Just because its "FDA" approved. Doesn't mean much in the supplement industry.

myprotein.com - they seem to be available in US & UK (I'm in London). Best inexpensive (ish) protein powder I've found that also has good protein levels. Plus their other stuff is quite good too.

Keep in mind, sometimes you pay for what you get. There may be some cheaper proteins out there but they can also have the actual protein content skewed by amino spiking (in case you haven't heard of this trend coming to light as if late).

Essentially, the protein content is raised in the test by adding certain amino acids that are cheaper than the actual whey protein, chewting the test. Reputable brands are why you pay a little extra. A giveaway for a protein that may be amino spiked, check the ingredients. If it says taurine, glycine or any other type of aminonacid blend has been added to the protein powder, chances are islts lower quality and youre paying for less protein than you think you are.
