30lb to lose in 2 months

I know it's healthy to lose 0.5kg or 1lb a week. Trust me, I tried for 5 months and didn't work for me.0

Sweetheart,......I know you may thing that people are being mean and I see that you have had a big loss to start with.
All I am saying is that the less you have to lose, the less you DO lose each week.
I started at 187 and the first few weeks I lost A LOT of weight. That inevitably slows down considerably. I am now at about 158 and am ECSTATIC if I lose 1lb!
Just be realistic is what we are all saying........1lb off is safe, healthy and achievable and it adds up0 -

You were talking about losing 3kg per week, which is almost 7 pounds. To do that you'd have to not eat at all *and* you'd have to do 1,500 calories worth of exercise every day without eating.
In other words it's not going to happen.
A realistic goal is 1 pound per week, and that's if you have a 500 calorie per day deficit. Even that is hard. An aggressive goal is 2 pounds per week.
It sucks that it'll take 30 weeks to lose 30 pounds. But in 30 weeks, you'll wish you'd started today.
Good luck in your journey!
+1 for maths. What you're proposing defies logic and reason.
Agreed. Here's the question, though: why only two months? Is there an event coming up?
In shows like the Biggest Loser they do lose those numbers (in the beginning), but all they do is work out all day. You have a baby that needs to be cared for, and I'm guessing other life commitments as well.
When I started, I lost 3kg in 3 days. That was the beginning. It's a great kick start (mostly water weight and a difference in how I weighed myself), but it's not a pace that I can sustain.0 -
what a majority is saying is NOT negative feedback - these are the people who are experienced and knowledgable about weight loss and it will do you well to listen. Your weight might go quickly at the start but it will inevitibly slow down and you are setting yourself up for failure. What happens when you dont lose that weight in your alloted time? Will you then claim calorie counting doesnt work for you and fall off the wagon? Just listen to the advice given and dont give yourself a timeframe. Took me a 8 months to lose 40lbs0

Jokokmack, I know what you are saying but I need to try this. Even if I lose 20lb in two months but atleast I did try0
-
I dropped weight really quickly once, but I was left with saggy skin because I lost it too quickly
Pace yourself. Your goal is do-able and I'm not trying to stop you. But if you see any negative consequences it's not chucking the towel in if you need to slow down - it's becoming stronger.0 -
Hi..I'm motivated...it's 12 years overdue...the last time I saw those washboard abs..I'm watching what I eat, putting in the work, and just received T25 in the mail...I'm commited to seeing them again...dropped 25 lbs in 2 months. Started out at 189 lbs and now down to 171 lbs. I want to get back to college weight and physique0

I have lost 20 lbs in about 2 months and that was thru the holidays which I slacked off more than I should have. It probably could of been close to 30lbs. You can do it. Friend request me if you like. Make sure you log in your food and weigh it. Definitely helps a lot.0

Thank you for your support guys. I believe we can do it for those who really want to lose 30lb in 2 months.0

I mean why can't you lose 1.5kg or 3.5lb per week? If you are serious about losing extra weight around your waist???0
-
pjack142, are you committed to eating clean and working out intensely? That is the only way you are going to accomplish your goal. If you are looking for a magic pill or solution, then you have to be more realistic. You have to burn more calories than you consume, but eat enough calories to keep from slowing down your metabolism;.
Why is 30 lbs in two months such an urgent goal? If that is what you intend to do, hire a nutritionist and trainer who can get you there without hurting yourself.

Losing that much means you would have to consume 1750 calories under what you burn A DAY. Unless you weigh 400 pounds, that large of a deficit is seriously unhealthy. A large deficit when you don't have much to lose leads to more loss of muscle and a deprivation of important nutrients to keep your body healthy.0 -

Because weight loss isn't just fat. It's muscle, water, and tissue as well. The idea of using a reasonable deficit and losing slowly is that you minimize the amount of muscle lost during weight loss. You want to retain as much lean body mass as possible.
Extremely aggressive deficits when you do not have much to lose can be problematic because of this, and often result in the person seeing the scale weight they want but not being happy with how their body looks. Instead of seeing a tight, taut figure, they end looking soft and flabby at goal weight because they have lost so much muscle.
This is why people recommend keeping a reasonable deficit, eating lots of protein (aids in muscle retention during weight loss), doing resistance training (whatever is heavy for you), and getting some cardiovascular exercise for overall health.0 -
Wow that's a lot! I would love to lose 30lbs in 3 months... that's my goal. I hope you make it, girl! You go!0

Hello,
I have 2 months to lose 30lb after having my baby ( 5 months old). I really do need friends to support and motivate each other. I have tried several times on my own and failed!!! Cheers
Your baby weighs 30lbs after 5 months? There's plenty of adoption agencies around. Or you could go for the classic dumpster scenario. Then you've lost all 30lbs in one go.

I think it is doable, but not maintainable or really healthy to do a crash diet like that. If you exercise like mad, and watch what you eat, sticking with mostly veggies and water with some lean meats, you can probably do it. I think most the people doubting are more trying to encourage you to set a more attainable goal with maintainable habits. I think if all you really need to lose is 30, the first 20 will be easy, after that it is going to get harder and harder. I wish you all the luck in the world, but luck is not going to do it, serious commitment to diet and exercise is going to!0

I am aiming to lose 30 pounds in 10 weeks so my time frame is a little longer. It's completely doable, but you just gotta watch out for what you eat and get your gleteus maximas moving! My brother has dropped about0

oh man, imagine the loose skin with such a drastic weight loss in such a short amount of time.0

Why two months? Is this a spring break thing?0

It's possible! Two months might be hard though.
Here's my proof it can be done in 3 months! Give it %100 and you can do it!
In 2013 I lost 30 pounds in 3 months using MyFitnessPal.
I didn't break my back doing it, and I still had thin crust pizza and beer weekly!
- Jogged/Ran for 20 minutes, 3-4 times a week
- Did light weight lifting and 30 pushups for 15 minutes, 3-4 times a week
- Consumed 1400-1600 calories per day
- Consumed 120g-130g carbs per day
I'm doing it again now, feel free to add me as a friend anyone! I share my diary etc
