    When I was in law school (or alcoholism training) all the gym rats got hammered like the rest of us... They just stuck to vodka and micholobe ultra.

    yes me me loool, but I have not had any alcohol for 3 weeks so far I am going to drink alcohol in the 4th week. That's my plan to drink only once a month as much as it pains me but I have to do it ....

    That's where all my weight came from....Love my wine!!! Have been trying to cut down for months but to no avail. Been trying to use MFP for a while now..tried WW too. But there's a cost factor in that. I have never been consistent with either one. Any suggestions??

    Another fellow drinker here! I wouldn't want to give up alcohol altogether but have resolved to just drink at the weekends. I toyed with the idea of 'dry January' but it seems like a pretty miserable month to be giving up the booze :D
    I plan on setting aside some calories for the drink on a Friday and Saturday and making sure I do more exercise those days as well

    Drink!! I have just added diet alternative soft drinks to mine and most vodka is potatoes anyway :wink:

    However rum is my diehard favourite

    Beer, whiskey, rum, vodka, gin, or tequila I drink any and all. It is all about balance. you don't have to not drink just make sure you log it accordingly. Good Luck

  • Logging everything is important to "keep it real". Knowing how many hidden calories are in your beverages can help you "plan" for your "fun". I love beer, wine, cocktails, but when I see how they effect my progress, right there in my face it helps keep the denial process at bay. I try to make room in my calories that day to allow for some fun....usually by working out first.

    I've grown to LOVE my wine over the past couple years and even appreciate beer when I always hated it before. But it's hard for me to justify the calories so I'm trying to really cut down now!

    Yup; me! Just started back January 5th but the weekend is here. I probably won't indulge this weekend because at the beginning I try to be really strict with myself. But as I begin to lose I reward my self with a glass of wine or something on the weekend.

    I am just glad it is winter because I tend to drink a lot more in the Summer.

  • I drink water and coffee. That makes me a drinker, right? I don't log them because they're both calorie-free.

    LOL I don't log my coffee either, I do log my beer/wine/spirits though!

    Drinker here too... So much wine over the holidays, and lots of beer over the last few months contributing to my gain, I'm sure. I'll definitely still be indulging, but logging as well. Feel free to add me.

    Fellow drinker here which I have cut back with the hectic corporate life I don't have time to drink with the gang as much. I do log mine when I drink though.

    This is the best thread I have read since I've been at MFP. Love my beer and love my bourbon. :) Love the buzz. Working to keep it at an enjoyable level and not so much a binge thing.

    I don't typically log my drinks as they mostly happen on Friday and Saturday and I'm really bad about logging on weekends. But, I am most certainly not about to give my idea of fun and that includes having some drinks and having a good party. Friend me if you like. :smile:

    Single mom with 3 boys here .... Yea, I'm not giving up booze anytime soon. Plus it keeps me warm in the MN weather (which sucks balls right now).

    I'm a drinker. It can affect my progress when I'm cutting mostly because, like last night, I tend to like to eat all the things after I've drank all the drinks. However, I'm able to stay lean while still drinking on a regular basis. I do work it into my calories. Generally by eating at a deficit on the weekdays so I can go over on the weekends.

    I too am a drinker. I have 4 or 5 vodka and Mio & Water a night. More on the weekends.
    I do 45 min of cardio and I don't use my surplus calories from that so there are my vodka calories.
    I lost over 65 lbs last year from Feb to June...and then stopped going to the gym and 20 lbs slowly came back on. As of Dec 28th I'm back at the gym and joine MFP and I'm down 4 lbs! Woot! Hoping to lose another 40 by summer.

    I've lost 90lbs drinking 2 Becks light, or Heineken light, or 2 homemade sangrias a night. I used to be a really heavy drinker, but I just don't have my powers anymore. To enhance my relaxation buzz after work I take a couple tokes of calorie free weed and I'm a happy camper. I recommend it to everyone here.

    :D I was so happy to see this thread!!!!! I love my beer and it is a lot of the reason I have put on so much weight in the first place. My husband and I have decided to only drink on the weekends for the next couple of months. We were drinking just about every night for a few months there. I always logged and counted my beer when I was on MFP before and will continue to do again. I was successful in losing before when I exercised and drank several nights a week. I hope that I am able to do that again! Feel free to add me!

    Fellow drinker here! I'm a SoCal girl and I love my tequila. I drink it straight with a talk glass in water on the side. My goal is to only go out and eat/drink once or twice a month. All work and no play makes Tracy a cranky girl!! Friend me! I'm having difficulty with that function at the moment!
