I am just wondering how/if you guys deal with maybe being in an unsupportive or misunderstanding environment and how you mage to get on with that. I know that ever since my mother has lost 100 pounds, she really believes that she is the health guru and reserves all rights to express to me how she thinks that I am doing something wrong like for instance that I don't like to do the at home work out tapes. She makes me feel really crappyabout the way that I am handling things, but I there's no nice way to just say "hey mom I know you think you're trying to help but you are really making me feel worse, and the 25 year age gap between us puts me in a very different place than you in terms of activity level, ." sorry if this sounds ranty, it is just hard for me to stay motivated when I have someone constantly telling me that I am doing everything wrong.

Hey there, hey mom I know you think you're trying to help but you are really making me feel worse
She obviously has the best intentions but has got pretty set in her ways about how she does things. Maybe a good idea would be to sit down with nher and explain what you intend to do and say that you respect how well she has done but really want to give things a shot 'your way'.
Wishing you all the very best.

My mum recently lost some weight too, and has ever since been coaxing me into this program that I don't want to go on (since I really don't want to keep purchasing shakes for the rest of my life to eat for twice a day; but if that's how other people choose to do it, I'm cool with it, it's just not for me). I totally understand how you feel. She keeps telling me to do this and that, and not realise it's just helping feed a former destructive habit that I've spent so long trying to break.0
