Help With Fitbit One Sync and Fitnesspal Regarding Exercise

Hello! I have had the Fitbit One since last summer, and enjoy using it, except of course you don't get accurate readings on elliptical, biking etc. My question is that I have been recently inputting my food choices, and also adding manually exercise, which gives me more calories to eat, however, the Fitbit is also giving me credit for steps. Should I be inputting exercise in on the Fitnesspal?

when i synced my fitbit flex to my fitness pal it told me to only track my exercise and food intake on myfitness pal.0

If you are running or walking, from my understanding, you will get credit for extra calories twice. The steps plus the exercise input.0

What I would do is set your MFP activity level to either "Lightly Active" or "Active" depending on how much extra exercise you do, and then just use your fitbits calorie adjustments for the daily things like steps.0

I've noticed on mine (I have the flex, but I think it is the same) that if I manually enter exercise that the fitbit still picks up it will lower my fitbit exercise calories that it adds to MFP. If I don't enter it, my fitbit exercise calories earned are higher. So it seems to be about the same either way. Regarless, I typically only enter the exercise that is not step oriented. I don't enter in my walks or treadmill, but I enter in any strength training or specialty exercise classes.0

I wear my fitbit all day. If I go for a run I keep the fitbit on me but log the run as exercise on MFP. The key is to use the time stamp on your exercise when logging it on MFP then the extra calories will be removed from the fitbit section. So if you run/gym from 10.15am to 10.55am tell MFP you were active starting at 10.15 for 40 minutes. It should then ignore any fitbit steps taken during that time. They will still show up on your fitbit daily log but calories won't be added twice. Try this and see if it works.0
