Hey Ladies,

I was just wondering if you see a stall/gain when you get your period? Thanks!

Well, I don't have any direct experience but I've heard (from my wife) that it causes water retention...and water has mass and thus weight...so yeah.

For me there is a kinda same rhythm every month
Because i log everything and weigh everyday i noticed this.

First my weight loss comes to a stand for 2 days..than i gain some ounces for some days. than 2 days of a stand again and than whoppa 1 or 1.5 pounds off...and from there we go down again :)
I dont flip out over any of it btw. Its normal.

    lol every time the same.
And i also feel much better since i lost weight during those days. Lucky because i was pretty miserable.

That's my pattern, confirmed with daily weighing for the past month.

I timed my start on MFP just right...it was THAT week....between water lost because of my cycle and water lost because of dietary changes, I lost 5 pounds that first week!

It's been a pound a week-ish since, which is far more sustainable. But, it was awfully nice to start getting shot out of a cannon. :)

I'm up about 2 lbs ...and I'm drinking at least 2 L of water a day to try and help with the water retention. Can't wait until it drops off!

May I ask how old you are? Mine stopped at 40 (I am 46) and all the nurses and doctor thought I was too young to be in menopause so I had thought something was wrong. You look young so I am curious.

I gain anywhere from 3-8lbs before and during. It starts to go down during/after. I really never know my actual weight until just after my TOM is done...

I have very light periods because I have an IUD, but I do notice a small amount of weight gain before 'the lunar apocalypse' as my boyf calls it :)
