Sia's Elastic Heart is "Pedophilia"

It's wonderful magic. I am absolutely enthralled by both this and the Chandelier video.

Just remember, people will always want something to cry about. Pretty soon the cries over this video will be left behind just like everything else. Humans have the attention span of a goldfish.

Its a nice dance and a nice juxtaposition of what I perceived to be representations of the artist's psyche. It's important though to remember that not everyone has the life experience or perspective to understand it in that way. And although to me it appears to be art representing the psyche I can very well understand how to others it might be interpreted more literally, especially if they just don't have the other perspectives or experiences to draw from. For that reason I feel the artists apology was appropriate when the concerns became evident to her. I think that showed a maturity and sensitivity and inclusive nature on her part.

I interpret it as fear, aggression, reproach, trust (almost sibling-like with the making faces and the ways he carriers her), joy, loss, and finally, sorrow with their imminent separation because of their difference in size (the divide between childhood and adulthood perhaps?). Just because they are wearing tight nude clothing does not mean there is inherent sexual connotations. Being "nude" in this video and in Chandelier seems like a symbol for vulnerability instead, especially with all the dirt, stains, and bleak grey surroundings. I think Maddie's performances are like a foil to Sia, and express the wild and fearless part of herself she has trouble sharing due to her struggles with depression and anxiety.

Yes, a prepubescent girl doing acrobatics in a tight nude body suit could be a trigger for a released pedophile, but if they had been seeing a therapist, which usually involves some kind of probation and restrictions/monitoring, then things should be under control. There are much worse things on the internet that an un-convicted pedophile could access that would be a much more direct route to satisfy their sexual attraction to minors.
