It's really, really cold in NYC this winter, stay motivated?

I'm having a hard time motivating my normal intensity and drive to go to the gym, only because it's so damn cold! Any motivational strategies you can share?

Plan a ski trip!
Bundle up and go for a brisk walk0 -
I'm in NYC too:
It's not that cold; think about last year
Make a plan to meet someone there.
Bundle up and go anyway. (oh, I just saw the bundle up comment above)

I'm also in NYC and feel your pain. I've just started working out at home instead.0

I like the working out at home idea. If it wasn't so cold outside, it wouldn't look like a post-apocalyptic nuclear winter at 7pm in one of the most densely populated cities in the US.0

I live in NYC too and I don't have the luxury of a car to the gym. I have to take a bus, and I do it because I want it bad enough.0

I agree that last winter was so much worse. A hat and scarf are really key to keeping warm. I was doing an experiment to see what weight coat I really needed, up until this latest cold front, and you would be surprised: layers under a light coat plus scarf and hat keep you very warm, even just going to the subway or bus. Now you need a heavy coat, though.
As for motivation: what happens on that first nice spring day? You want to wear something a little cuter than the bulky sweater, right? The time for choosing those clothes is every cold day you go to the gym now!
I really, REALLY did not want to go today. I was consistently hungry, and ate over my original allowance by about 100 calories. I could not have a day where I went over, so I promised myself that I could stop at 150 calories at the gym. I did 300 instead, slowly, not killing myself like I have been the rest of the week, and got out of there.0 -
Oh, and I just joined and am looking for friends if anyone wants to add me. Can use the support and promise to give it back.0

Yeah, it comes down to wanting it bad enough!0
