Friends call me Tura, but I'll answer to both. I am a single mom of one, and I am going to be 42 at the end of this month. I am in the pre op stage of gastric bypass surgery. I am aware that it is merely a tool to help me with my weight loss and I thought it was a good idea to get with a community that is supportive and helpful in regards to me reaching my goals of a healthy weight and a stronger, more fit body. I may never have the same body I did when I was younger, but it will be able to do things that I used to take for granted. You all know what I mean! I am looking forward to a healtheri me too. I am very easy to talk to and love to meet new people, so don't be shy. If you are from my area, bonus.

Good luck with the procedure. Everyone has to make some lifestyle changes if we are to reach our goals. As for the tools to reach them there are so many the options are overwhelming. Taking it one day at a time and one choice at a time.Welcome to your Journey :)

Good luck in all that you do. My mother is also in the pre op stage, but for gastric sleeving. It was originally scheduled for Dec. 29th, but she postponed because she was feeling overwhelmed. I keep telling her that weight loss is just the a bonus, the feeling she will get with her NSVs will probably be amazing

Hi Tura, Welcome to the Site :) There are some wonderful groups that are supportive for WLS that you might want to check out even before surgery. Though I've not gone the surgery route I'm sure the groups would help support and answer any questions when they come up. :) Good Luck!
