Hi everyone! I have heard calculating macros helps loosing fat so I'm wondering where can I calculate these macros online that is pretty accurate. Also, is anyone following this program and has it worked for you? Thanks and God bless!

I've been on myfitnesspal for about a year (6 days from now). Counting calories and eating less calories than you burn will allow you to lose fat. You need to be accurate with your logging though, which means getting a food scale (which you can buy brand new for 10 dollars or so).

Macros are good for ensuring a balanced diet between carbs, protein and fat. Myfitnesspal defaults for fat and protein are considered minimums, so seeing "red" on those numbers is a good thing

Good Luck, the community is great here (and really brutally honest which is a good thing), I'm sure you will love it here

Personally, I eat (try to) 1gram of protein per 1 pound of body weight. I'm 127 so I shoot for 127g protein. My fat target is 50-75 grams, as long as its good fats. Carbs are just the remaining calories. I don't worry about carbs because I don't feel that I eat empty calories like breads and refined sugars. Sugars are OK as long as there is fiber with it, like fruit and veggies.
Everyone's tasted and needs are different, so this is just my 2¢.

I used this post to set mine up, and I know others have found success with it: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/819055-setting-your-calorie-and-macro-targets

IIRC, the IIFYM site has a calorie and macro calculator on it, or you can set your own based on the the following guidelines -

    General Recommendations
fat: .3 - .5g per lb of bodyweight
carbs: .5 - 3g per lb of bodyweight
protein: .75 - 1.25g per lb of lean body mass

You'll probably need to go through some trial and error to find your "sweet spot" but these ranges offer some reasonable guidelines. Let things like total calorie goal, exercise, body composition goals, and personal dietary preferences dictate where your targets fall within those guidelines.
