Low fat Tortilla Recipe

One of my girls wanted to do some cooking with me today, as she often does, and as I'd been looking into lower calorie alternative to bread. Thats what we did.

1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1½ tsp baking powder
2 tsp vegetable oil
¾ cup warm water

Put all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Combine the water and oil. Add the water/oil slowly to the dry ingredients until it hold together as a dough. You may need more or less water depending on the state of the flour.

Once it holds together as a ball of dough, leave it to rest for 10 minutes. Split into twelve even balls. and roll into flat circles of about 6 inch diameter. place a dry (no fat) heavy based frying pan/skillet on the heat until very hot. place a tortilla into it. After about 30 seconds flip over for a further 30 then out.
