Weight loss stops with exercise arghhh

Hi everyone trying this as every time I start exercising again my weight loss stops anyone else have this problem

You need to eat at a calorie deficit for weight loss and exercise is health.0

If you start exercising, and therefore become more hungry or think you can eat more (which you can, if you're tracking properly), you may be eating too much and not be in a deficit. You absolutely have to be at a calorie deficit to lose weight.0

Are you eating at the same deficit as non-exercise days and then exercising on top of that or are you exercising but also eating your exercise calories back?
If you are eating your exercise cals back then you may be slightly overestimating your caloric burn and thereby accidentally going over your net goal food intake. That would slow or could stall weight loss depending on the size of your actual deficit.

Weight training for me causes water weight but it usually sorts itself after a few weeks. But I usually can fend it off w/ apple cider vinegar, eating potassium rich foods and tea. Maybe it's water retention?
Muscles are heavier than fat. Maybe use a tape measure and log your measurements every few weeks?0 -
Exercise, especially when starting something new, can cause water retention. It doesn't mean that you aren't getting smaller/losing fat. I can relate to being motivated by the number going down on the scale, but the most important thing is fat loss right? BTW last week I was working out and lost 1 lb. This week I was sick (calories consistent this week and last) and did not exercise. I've lost 1.6 already in half a week. I attribute this to the water retention. You will see your weight drop with time.0

Depending on the exercise and the intensity, weight loss might be temporarily masked by water retention due to muscle repair, etc. It should be temporary.0

Two thoughts:
1. Some people find that exercise makes them hungry so they eat more. In the same vein, a lot of people overestimate how much they're burning with exercise and so they eat back more calories than they're burning off
2. When beginning an exercise program it's normal to retain water. With lifting I retain water for the first 5 or 6 weeks. That water retention can mask fat loss for awhile, but not forever.0 -
Same problem...I'm working the exercise into the daily routine: commuting, gardening, etc. because neither "workouts" nor the basic calorie limit are something I can do indefinitely.0

When I bump up my training volume, my weight loss does stop (or even reverse) for a few days to a week if I get sore. It's fluid. I just keep going and it goes away with more besides. I just consider it part of the process and don't sweat it.0

Thsnks guys.. tempted to leave slimming world at the moment while exercising.. I don't eat my extra calories,
av been having good losses at sw when not exercising, thus week am 1lb heavier0
