Why aren't I losing weight?

Ok I've been using this app for about a month and have lost 5lbs but then I gained 3 lbs back. I work out at least 3 times a week (most of the time more than that) I eat mostly healthy, don't exceed my calorie limit, usually don't even eat enough according to this app, yet I've gained weight after losing it. What's wrong with me?

Water probably, just keep at it.

Do you weight all your food?
  • No I don't, I don't have a scale. Hopefully it's just water, I weighed myself today and I was down 4 lbs again, maybe it's just the time I weigh myself at? I dunno

Weigh yourself at the same time of day, every time you weigh for the sake of consistency. I like first thing in the morning when I get out of the shower.

You may want to invest in a food scale to weigh all your foods to make sure you are not eating more than what you think. I had that problem when I first started. Another concern that may be affecting your weight loss, is using MFP's calorie burn estimates for the amount of exercising that you are doing. I use a HRM to give me a better idea of my burns because MFP estimated that I burned anywhere from 2.5 - 4 times more than what I did. Some members advise that if you are using MFP to estimate your calorie burns to only eat back 1/3 - 1/2 of your exercise calories back. Hope this helps. Good luck on reaching your goals.

Most people weigh themselves at the same time to try and be consistent. Buy a scale! A good enough digital scale might cost you 20 dollars, and will most likely be the single best investment to getting to your goal you will buy.
