Take it slow, log your meals, drink your water and move more. Find something you enjoy like walking or dancing and slowly increase the amount of exercise you get each day so you don't burn out too quick. We have similar goals and it is going to take some time getting there so be patient. Feel free to add me if you need some friends.

Don't rush things - you don't need to drop it all at once (and you can't anyway). This is a marathon, not a sprint, and it's the small changes that will add up and get you to where you want to be.
If it's not your style, do not cut out all sweets and junk food and alcohol and aim to live off just seeds and veg and the like. While a healthy diet is an admirable goal, a giant change like that is very likely to fail once you cave and eat something you miss. You don't need to completely cut out the things you like, just eat in moderation (adding healthier foods like more veg, fruits, less processed stuff is obviously a good thing, though).
It's important to log everything. Coffee can have a surprising number of calories, especially if you get it from a cafe or the like, and the odd biscuit here or there you ignore really adds up.
If you overeat one day it's not the end of the world. One bad day is *not* going to offset everything you've done, but letting it end your progress because you think you failed will.
There's a LOT of nutrition advice out there, and a lot is baloney. That's not because people are lying, it's just a scientifically difficult thing to measure. Take every 'you MUST' do this or 'NEVER do that' with a pinch of salt, use your own judgement, and do whatever works for you.
Candies and chocolates and things can have a ton of calories in a tiny portion, but unprocessed meat, veg and fruit have way less and fill you up pretty well - find foods you like that are low in calories, or provide a lot of nutrition, if you're struggling to reach your goals.
If you're feeling too hungry on the calories you're eating and losing weight, you probably arent eating enough. If you're not losing weight with your calorie goal, it may be too much. Adjust accordingly. But it's also totally normal to fluctuate a few pounds in a day for no real reason, or for weight loss to stop then start back up. Do not panic over either of these things, if it's been a couple of weeks just think about changing your daily calorie intake.
Working out is super great, lift weights and maybe throw in some cardio, weight loss will be quicker and you'll feel a lot better for it if you don't currently do anything, but even a great workout routine isnt enough if you're eating more than you're burning off - you can't outrun your plate.

    Good luck B)

I just want to echo what the previous posters have suggested. Slow and steady is more effective and much healthier.

Only losing half or 1lb a week might seem like a lot for a little, but a few weeks down the line when you've lost that first stone (and it's staying off because you've gone the right way about it) you'll feel very rewarded.

I know lots of people who diet, diet and diet only happy of they're dropping 3-4lb a week and then end up putting it all straight back on again.

    Good luck!
