Lose 40 pounds and keep it off

I started up a few months ago and saw a decent loss but over the holidays I stopped tracking and started snacking. Getting back up to 165 pounds, 15 more than I started with last time. I didn't notice until this week trying to find a pair of pants that fit and only one pair do. That was a large wake up call to step on the scale. I am hoping with no holidays in sight and with a bit more motivation I can get down by the end of the year. My goal is to get to my high school weight and keep it there.
