So...I've had two babies, my youngest is 16 months. This problem only developed within the last month or so. I'm doing TurboFire right now, which is pretty high intensity. Lately, I seem to get really uhh "wet" down there when I am working out, mostly on the jumping type moves (squat with a jump, air jacks, etc). I'm really not sure if I am losing bladder control due to having kids or if it is something else. Yesterday, I literally had to stop my workout and go change because it felt like I peed myself. It didn't smell like pee, though (sorry if that's TMI, but I checked because I'm freaking out about this!). I don't have this problem any time besides when I'm doing those types of workouts. Has anyone experienced this? Is there anything I can do to make it better, besides more kegels?

hi sweets...sadly its keigels and more and more of them...i have had this problem since my first one AND i had a "surgery" and it didnt work for long...and my doctor told me it's also hereditary...so i suggest wearing pads when exercising...youll feel better and less embarrased and im sorry there's no super cure...it was so embarrasing to go to the doctor for it but ive learned a lot...and he said the same thing keigels...for life :D

I have five children. I pee when I cough, laugh, sneeze, or exercise. :blushing: I had to start wearing a pantiliner ALL the time as a result, and I have to wear a heavier duty one when I exercise. I like the newer Always ones with the dri-lock and odor protect. They work well.

I have been doing kegels like crazy, but so far-nada.

    Good luck!!

Yes ma'am...It sure is bladder control. I also have issues(third baby did it to me..love him anyway...lol) with this. Jumping Jacks seem to be the only thing that gets me. I normally run and empty my bladder right before I have to do them and I am fine.

I notice if I empty out first, it is not such an issue. Also, it got better as I worked out more, but like they all say - kegels!
  • KEGALS!!!! Ben wa balls are AWESOME too!! You can actually get them at any sex store or magazine. They are balls that you use your muscles to hold in, which MAKES you do kegals. You can use them while you vaccum or anything! Also, I would get it check to see if it IS in fact urine. Could be sweat or vaginal discharge. Your GYN should be able to tell you how they can test it.

You are not alone! My midwife talked to me about surgery also, but if it does't work to well, I don't think I'm interested. And I hate doing kegels!

ive been told by my doc its not pee its cooch juices (sorry if thats kinda blunt) and keigls will help but wont solve it. Its kinda just one of those things that happens when you have kids. You tatas dangle and you cooch leaks. Mine isn't that bad but id say if yours is that bad just wear a pad when you exercise. and keigles. Keigles have made mine less dramatic.

Yep it's pee. I've been there done that too. Jumping is the main cause. After children your pelvic floor muscles lose strenght. Only way to fix that is kegels. Just another glorious perk for women who have had kids I'm afraid!:blushing:

Unfortunately, mild bladder control is a common side effect of pregnancy and child birth. Fortunately, you are not alone. Kegels should help. Wearing pads like OP suggest will eliminate the wetness and embarassment.

I tend to only have this problem when I am getting a bladder infection. I have symptomless bladder infections sometimes, ever since I had my c-section, and it takes awhile for the actual painful symptoms to show up. I know that I am getting one because I have loss of control issues when I work out. Lots of Diet Ocean Spray Cranberry juice seems to clear it up fast!

I hope you are able to figure it out soon. In the mean time, start doing Kegels.

I think most women have some "issue" with this....pee or "juice" or whatever. It happens to the best of us. :)

You wanna laugh?? Anyone get there work out on and then get extremely "gassy"? Yeah, embarrassing. LOL

HAHA! Yes this happens too, and is one of the reasons I like to workout when nobody is awake!

Thanks for the help ladies. I guess kegels and pads it is. I don't think I want to deal with surgery at this point for something so minor.

I have found wearing a tampon really really helps with the leaking. My guess is that it presses on the urethra somehow and acts as a stopper. I only have the problem during races and not my regular training runs. I guess running faster makes me leak. LOL!

If it is urine (I know you said you smelled it but if you are drinking tons of water a small leak of urine won't smell really) it's stress incontinence. I actually looked it up because I have the same issue when I work out. I usually have to pause my dvd at least twice to pee, and it's nothing but a tiny dribble becuase I always go right before I work out and I was confused why I couldn't hold this tiny dribble of pee in lol. Like everyone else said, keigels (probably spelled that wrong) will help eventually just have to do them frequently.

I don't even have children and I still wear panty liners; they are so thin and slim I hardly notice them. Nothing to be ashamed of!

AMEN!!! except I like the Kotex ones better... I prefer the length of the pad over Always™.... Dr told me all the kegels in the world wont cure what my 5 pregnancies has done to my nether regions.... its pads forever or I could TRY surgery but that isnt guaranteed to fix anything

Same here! Those exercises make a difference though. I jumped on a trampoline with my best friend's kids a few weeks ago and really did pee myself! It's just a fact of life that unfortunately hit me at 21!

This! I have a vaginal discharge sometimes when I'm working out hard. There is nothing that can be done except wait for my husband's return in June lol I am also a heavy sweater in that area as well so make sure its not just that.
