I'm a 5'2, 18 year old , female and I want to know what your opinion is for what a good weight is for shorter women. I know it depends on the individual but I'd like to get an idea from other women who are of the same height and what your personal weight goals are! I've looked on sites and did research but I get varying answers and I'd like to set a reasonable, healthy, goal weight for myself. What do you think is a good weight for 5'2 or shorter? What is your goal?

5'2ish. Goal weight: 115 lbs.
Ideal weight for me would be anywhere from 110-118 depending on how compact my muscles are. I like to be a little curvy and want to retain my chest so that's my personal preference. I feel that anything above 120 puts me in the slightly chunky category. --I'm around 133ish right now.1 -
I read that Shakira is 5'2" and 125 lbs. I figure that if it works for her...
Also, I think strenght training is more important for shorties. We have less muscle to begin with so to get as much from it as possible it needs working.2 -
I'm 5'2 and aiming for 127 lbs. Right now I have curves and a butt. Don't want to lose that.0

My goal weight is 115 & I'm 5'2'' 10 pounds, + or -, goes a long way on a short frame.0

I'm 5'2 120 lbs. I think I'm good here. Just trying to firm it up a bit but overall I'm happy with my weight now.0

I'm 5'2". When I was in college I was at around 135 and I was happy there... it's on the high side of "normal" weight, but I was also very fit at that time and working out a lot so I think I looked thinner because of that. I'm hoping to eventually get down to that weight again, but I still have a ways to go.0
-
I'm 5'1" and I'm hoping for about 118, but 120 is probably more realistic.0
-
I'm 5'2" and my goal weight is 120lbs.... only 13lbs to go
My focus has really changed now though - since I started (SW = 156lbs) I've really gotten into fitness and love running and weights so my focus is more on improving with them now than getting to a specific number.0 -
Im 5'" and started my weight loss mission at my highest 135...first goal is 122, and 2nd goal is 117.1

I am 5'2" and 110 and for me it's perfect. I have no curves and have to just accept that. I don't gain weight in my chest/butt, it all goes to my middle (yuck!) so I am learning to love just being tiny and getting more toned.0

I'm 5,1 and I'm aiming for 120lbs. That's the weight I was before I started pigging out on whole cereal boxes I'm 134lbs now, so that 14lbs to loose1
-
I am 5'1" is range and my goal weight range is 125-130. I am currently on the high end of that range. I set that goal with the help of my personal trainer and myself based on the goals I wanted reach. It's funny now that I have lost the weight I really just want to be able to have really defined muscles.0

I'm 5'1" and my "I hope I get at least this far" goal is 125, the very top of my range. Ideally, I'd like to eventually be closer to 115. We'll see how well I can do.0

I want to get down to 120 pounds and see how I feel there0
-
I'm 5'2" -- right now I'm shooting for around 130 and at that point will decide if I want to lose more. I'm not trying to get to a size 0. I like my curves. When I used to be around 140 I was a size 6, and I was comfortable there.0

I'm 5'0". I was at 118 for my wedding a few years ago, and I definitely still had some fluff in the belly area that I could get rid of. I'm currently shooting for 110, and seeing what I look like at that weight.
It definitely matters how much you tone, though! At our height, we could weigh 120 and look skinnier than 110 because the extra 10 pounds was actually muscle, and you were at a smaller fat percentage. Once 120 hits, I'd start paying attention to the measurements more than the scale number.0 -
At 5'1 my doc told me 140 ish was good for me but I'm a little bit top heavy and that goes no where.0
-
I'm 5'0" and my goal is between 110-115. I have a bit of a booty so I don't want to lose that. My lowest weight was 122 and I liked the way I looked at that weight..I'm bobbling around 138 right now..and I do not like it at all.1

I'm 5'2" and I'm aiming for 120.1

I'm 5'1" (maybe, I'm 52 and shrinking) and I'd love to get down to 120. I'd be happy at 130, though. It's funny, I distinctly remember getting weighed in 8th grade and being 135. It would make me giddy to weigh less than I did when I was 13.0

I'm 5' 1" and my goal weight is 105lbs. It's more extreme than other ladies here, it seems, but I think that's fine. I'm Asian and both sides of my family are pre-disposed to Diabetes, so I want to make sure I'm on the lower end of "ideal" BMI just to make sure.
And to clarify, my goal weight is flexible. I weight train regularly and my goal is a combination of fat loss and training to improve performance in martial arts, so my goal range would be 105-110lbs. I've selected my goal weight based on Lyle McDonald's Body Recomposition Article and through my own experience.
I'm down to 130lbs~ish from 157lbs and my lowest has been 119lbs. I had originally intended to lose until 125lbs, but when I attained that I realized I still had excess fat. So I figure I will continue cutting until I am 105lbs or until I find my performance in the gym or at my dojo is negatively impacted (whichever comes first). If I reach 110lbs and see I'm stalling in my strength or losing strength, I will maintain there and see what happens along with taking measurements and seeing if that's where I want my body to be.
Ideally, I want to be at a weight which has a 15-18% body fat percentage and is lithe enough that I don't get in my own way when sparring. >w<0 -
I don't think there is an ideal weight for that height, I am about the same height, 113 lb however I'm working to get a more toned physique and tighten my poochy belly.
@ThatMouse;; I kind of have the same situation. My grandparents on both sides have diabetes and liver problems as well. Lost a grandparent on both sides from liver cancer, not sure if it was lifestyle or if it was from the war.0 -
@Eggsweet Cheers for similar family situations! My grandma (only living blood relative) recently passed away, but it was due to old age. She did have Diabetes, but it didn't seem to develop any complications. She was, however, of healthy weight except in the last months when she was severely underweight. Similarly, I lost my grandpas before I knew them - both due to lung cancer from smoking.0

I'm 4'9 and I've found that I always look best around 105 pounds as long as I am toned. Any less and I start to look sick. Any more than 115 and I start to look overweight, whether or not it's muscle.
Right now I'm aiming for 110, then I'll decide where to go from there.0 -
I’m 5’2, 106lbs..
I don’t know but I’m still aiming for 101.
I don’t like my body1 -
I'm 5'0" and shooting to stay between 110 and 120lbs for now (I'm still breastfeeding a toddler). I'd like to hit between 105-115 finally. I spent a while at 113lbs at the peak of my fitness, I've kind of relaxed a bit with the CV going around and our life basically thrown upside down.
As we get back to normal, I'm also taking better control of my eating again, going back to the gym (starting TOMORROW! they are open!), and hope to be within goal.
I'm up to 122lbs, which is outside of my goal range. I don't have much to lose to be on goal.1 -
I'm 5'2 and my goal is currently at the top of my weight range for the army requirements of 138. I've got to lost about 85 pounds in order to get to the size that I'd like, but it is quite difficult because I have an auto-immune/inflammatory disease that flares up in response to sweat as well as thyroid issues.0
-
I’m 5’1’’, currently aiming for 110 but may stop a little sooner and work on fitness to see where that takes me before I lose any more. I want to be able to give blood and you can’t weigh less than 110, so I would rather aim a bit higher and then work on overall musculature to gain weight before I get leaner.0
