I can recommend the Polar FT7...LOVE IT..Best Purchase (toward weight loss) this year! LITERALLY! It serves its purpose and its comfy...
I did want the Bodybugg, and am still debating....but for now knowing what I'm burning when i actually am WANTING to burn calories is working for me..0 -
I just met a goal and rewarded myself with a new HRM. I got the Polar FT4. My brother [who teaches folks to become certified personal trainers recommended I get a - POLA R - with a CHEST STRAP - saying the ones with straps are the more reliable.
Check Amazon.com. There prices were lowest when I looked for mine. I ende dup getting it at ****'s Sporting Goods, bc I had a gift certificate.
I have to tell you I LOVE IT! I was really low balling myself when I guessed what my weight workouts burned. And the treadmills at the gym are unreliable bc they are not calibrated often enough for the amount of people who use them. I see myself coming up to 500 calories and say, "You can hit 525.", or see my time is nearly up and say, "You can do 2 more mins!.", which often becomes 5 more mins, which becomes.. you get the picture! For a "visual" person like myself, the HRM has made all the difference! I burn 50-75 calories more each day now, by pushing myself a little harder each time.
Good luck! :flowerforyou:
Good luck0 -
I would spend the extra money and get a Polar.. I had a Timex HRM with a chest strap and then I bought a Polar FT40.. I wore them both at the same time to compare the readings.. Lets just say they are nowhere even close to showing the same amount of calories burned... The Polar said I burned 450 vs the Timex showed 1200 burned0

I have the Polar FT4 which I purchased 1st. Now I have the bodymedia because I want to know how many calories I burn 24 hours. It even tracks your sleep. I love it.0
