I am looking for different smoothie recipes, been trying to lose weight for a while and now that i have to have surgery on my jaw in the first week of november, i will only be able to be on a liquid diet, so smoothies really work for that. So i am looking for new smoothie recipes of all kinds.

Here is a smoothie recipe I have yet to try but trust the source:

    Thug Kitchen Fruit Salad Smoothie

    2 cups spinach
1.5 banana (less if you want a thinner smoothie)
    1 cup coconut water/water
    1/2 cup orange juice
    1/2 cup strawberries (frozen)
    1/4 cup blueberries (frozen)

You could also omit the spinach if that makes you nervous, or you want something that looks more colorful instead of purple-brown.

General rules of thumb for green smoothies (From Thug Kitchen):

2 cups leafy greens (spinach, kale, beet greens)
1 cup "creamy" fruit for base (banana, mango, avacado)
3/4 cup sweet frozen fruits (cherries, pears, berries, melon)
1 1/2 cup liquids (juice, water, milk in varying proportions depending on what you want)

Interested in what recipes people will have.

I make smoothies every morning for breakfast. They were part of a leaning challenge I did through my gym.

    Recipe
    1 cup frozen fruit
1 cup coconut milk or almond milk or coconut water
    2 raw eggs
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (low sugar and low carb)
    Ice

I started with using banana's and adding nutmeg and cinnamon.
    Then i started experimenting with
    - blueberry and banana
    - pineapple, banana and coconut milk (pina colada)
    - strawberry, blueberry and raspberries with coconut water
    - raspberry and pineapple
    - or even no fruit and just nutmeg and cloves (tastes like egg nog)
    A personal fav was:
-banana with instant coffee and almond milk. Really gave me the kick I needed to start the day!

    hope this helps :)

    My daily smoothie:

    - Kale
    - Spinach
    - Blueberries
    - Chocolate Protein Powder
    - All Natural Peanut Butter
    - Oats
    - Chia Seeds
    - Almond Milk

Sounds like a gross combo, but it just tastes like chocolate peanut butter. And I portion my smoothies out and freeze them, and then blend them straight from frozen and it turns into a really soft ice cream! So GOOD!

Instead of ice cream try this
    ☆Peanut butter and jelly smoothie☆
    •16 oz fresh raspberries
    •1 cup peanut butter
    •1 cup Silk almond milk
    •1 tablespoon honey (optional)
    2 cups of ice
    (3 servings)
Blend all together til smooth. I added a 1/4 cup more silk milk to drink out of straw. It satisfies a desert craving. U can top with cool whip also.

I always start my day with a protein smoothie but I did do a little change up this morning. It's cold and drizzly here and I really wanted a hot drink. So I made myself a Protein Latte.
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I use Designer Whey)
    8 oz. coffee
    1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
A few drops of Sweet Leaf Vanilla Crème Stevia.
In a coffee cup heat almond milk in microwave until warm but not boiling. Stir in protein powder until completed dissolved/blended. Add 8oz. coffee and stir thoroughly. Sweeten to taste with any flavor stevia liquid (used vanilla crème). Stats: 110cal, fat 4g, fiber 5g, sugar 1g, and protein 16g

Yesterday I made a pina colada smoothie:
    My basic smoothie (below)
1/2 cup canned pineapple in juice (drained)
    2 inches frozen banana
    1/2 Tablespoon coconut oil

You'll swear you re sitting on a tropical beach!

    My usual basic smoothie:
    1/2 cup FF Greek yogurt
    1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 scoop protein powder (with at least 20g protein)

    Add-ins:
    1/2 cup fruit
    11/2 veggies
    Several slices avocado
1 Tablespoon Chia or Flax seed
    1/2 Tablespoon coconut oil

My favorite is the basic smoothie with blueberries, spinach, and chia seeds!

My basic recipe: 2 cups liquid (almond milk, water, etc) 2 big handfuls of greens (kale, spinach, collard) one frozen banana, one cup froz fruit - usually strawberries or mango - 2 tbsp chia or flax seeds. Extras could be cocoa powder, ginger, cinnamon. A handful of oats.

Don't forget about savory smoothies too! greens, cucumbers, carrots, a cup of salsa, a cup of water, a small clove of garlic, siracha to taste.

This all depends on what you like: You can add protein powder to almost anything if you need it.
If you like thin consistency just use a few ice cubes. If you want milk shake consistency (Hard with a hurt jaw maybe) then use all frozen fruit (or a frozen banana).

Today I had a scoop of chocolate protein powder, cocoa powder, frozen cherries, half a frozen banana and some almond milk- it's my favorite!

If you like orange, you can blend an orange and some vanilla instant breakfast and any milk you choose- sorta like an orange Julius.

Strawberries, banana, ice cubes and water is the easiest one I can think of.

You'll just have to play with the flavors you like and decide what you're after- a meal or just a fun smoothie and go from there.

Love these ideas! Never had a smoothie before but of course hear lots of talk about them! Great idea about freezing into portions!

I like phd diet whey protein powder - 1 or 2 scoops into a fruit smoothie (say with strawberries, banana & almond milk, nutella for a treat) makes the smoothie into a filling meal replacement. I chose the PHD Diet Whey because I'm on a weight loss mission, so looking to keep the calories down but still get protein and vitamins into my diet. The vanilla creme flavour is fairly light and goes with most things.
