I would also like to know. I find it hard reaching 3500. Plus, food companies aren't required to put potassium on nutrition facts labels, so most the time I don't know how much I am actually getting.

You are probably meeting that number. As stated, nutrition labels do not require it so many high potassium foods will show 0 grams of potassium. Spinach has a good amount, but when I looked at nutrition labels for various spinach packages, none had any potassium listed.
  • I found it too easy to hit the number 3500 which was why it stood out see I wake up for 4 am to work I can eat very little not enough to be a hearty meal so I do a shake and I put

    1/2 cup raw oatmeal
    1 cup low fat milk
    1 medium banana
    1 cup strawberries

and MFP had those ingrediets at 1900mg potassium which can be a high number at the end of day if you ate like that for all 4 meals didn't want to find out I was eating like 7000mg which could be dangerous not to mention you need to have a balance between potassium and salt

Potassium has many benefits involving muscles like building them and cramping among others. Potassium accumulates in plant cells so many good fruits like bananas or potato w/ skins with high dose of it. From what I recall too much can cause problems with heart but I think that rate is around 15,000 or 20,000 area. Don't worry about MFP figure being low. Get what you can because you would be hard pressed to get too much.
  • Thank you for all the fast responses and it can never heart to be sure I know you can never really have a 100% perfect diet as far as every vitamin/mineral but its always good on a certain number that would seem to high/low and for Rileysowner try this this website called self nutrition data you can pick foods and servings it tells you what the label wont and much more than you can imagine
