New to My Fitness Pal, Not New to Tracking

I just quit weightwatchers online today after using myfitnesspal for two weeks as a replacement. I think I am going to like this. Plus, I had plateau'd on WW and couldn't get off the last five. I have nothing bad to say about WW, i just couldn't pay for no progress anymore, so here I am.
I do have a question. On WW, activity was a separate pot to pull from. You could choose to eat what you earned or not, but MFP seems to just dump the calories in and they are available to eat. Do you eat all the calories your earn and still lose weight?
Thanks!

Hello. I am 63 ANC have a LOT to lose. Am shooting for the 1st 50lbs. I too went to WW for a year. I lost 25 lbs. I tracked my foods, but had way too many cheat days?0
