Lost 5 pounds in my first week of dieting! But when is it noticeable? (Aiming to lose 5 stone in 6 months)

It depends on the person tbh. For me it was 10 lb but for a friend it took 40 lb (she was a lot heavier than me).0

i've read it takes four weeks for you to notice, eight weeks for people close to you to notice, and twelve weeks for everyone else to notice.
i think it's less than that though, cause my family always know when i've lost even a couple of pounds just from my face apparently. xo0 -
I'm heavier than i thought I was but I'm quite tall and it's not that easy to tell when you've put on weight when you're still growing.. I'll just carry on and the results will finally show hopefully :P0

I am extremely overweight, I have lost 83 pounds and some of my friends still haven't noticed HAHA! As long as you know, that's all that matters. Don't forget to take measurements!0

Oh I've heard something like that before. I think the more you want to see results the longer it takes to notice :P or maybe that's just me0

I'm 3 stone over my average weight. I hadn't even noticed.. But I aim to lose more and hopefully change into a healthier lifestyle. I probably need a lot of advice and tips though :P0

i'll add you definitely agree that the more you want something the longer it takes though haha xo0 -
It depends on a variety of factors. It wasn't until I was down 20-25 pounds that people noticed.
Why the time limit? 70 pounds in six months is quite aggressive. You shouldn't be doing more than 2 pounds a week after the initial huge loss, and that rate will drop as you get closer to your goal.0 -

I dont mind if it takes over a year. It's just a goal. I have nothing stopping me from achieving 2 or 5 pounds loss per week. I'm not looking for physical results yet. I'm just curious as this is my first time dieting and attempting to lose weight.0 -
since i have lost almost 80lbs so far, in my experience the people who you closely interact with daily (family and close friends) they notice at about the 20/25lb mark, people at my work didn't really start saying anything until I was closer to 40/50lbs and that is mainly cause they just don't see me enough or unsure what's really changed. Once you lose 50lbs (no idea how many stones that is silly british... j/k) people will really notice. At 75lbs even people you haven't seen in months will notice.0

It also depends on where you carry the fat and where you lose it. The fat will burn off from whatever part of the body it wants to. So, if you are fatter in the face, neck, etc. and your fat is coming off from there first, it may be more noticeable to others, versus on your stomach which is covered up. YOU will notice it more than anyone, which is the best thing. Happy weightloss!0
