How often do you weigh in?

Right now I weigh in every morning. It can be frustrating because my weight will go up and down by a few pounds each day so it's hard to know if I am making progress each day. On the other hand I don't know if I could go an entire week without weighing myself.

Patient, "It hurts when I do this."

    Doctor, "Don't do that."

I weigh once every two weeks.

Every day is not the way to go. I weigh-in once a week, same time, same floor tile, same clothes (none). Tomorrow morning... Dum, dum dum!!!

I suppose the best approach is different for everyone... my friend finds that weighing in once every 15 days keeps her motivated, whereas, I like to weigh myself every morning.

I weigh daily as well...when I stay under a weight for 3 days, I count it then.

You'll make yourself crazy weighing in every day. I weigh in once a week: Tuesday morning, same scale, naked, before eating anything but after going to the bathroom. Though I'd REALLY like to weigh myself more often to see what's happening, I don't want natural fluctuations to discourage me.

Once a week. In the morning. Same time, same day every week.

    Otherwise the weigh-ins are pointless.

Keep the scale in the basement if you have to.

I weigh myself everyday. I shouldn't, it ticks me off some days to see that horrid little number. I'm going to try to weigh once a week, but it will be tough.

I only weigh in once a week, and it is on Friday. This way, I get to see what I have accomplished from doing my workouts during the week.

I used to check everyday, and then it just got obsessive so now I check once a month.

Your weight fluctuates too much to weigh yourself every day. I would suggest weighing yourself once a week. It's hard at first to resist stepping on the scale every day but once you do it won't be that hard anymore. You might become counterproductive by weighing yourself so much, maybe getting discouraged. One day you could be retaining a lot more water than the next so once a week is what I would recommend.

I think that each person is different and needs to find what works for them. If you weigh every day and get depressed when you see a gain or no loss, then it might not be the way to go for you. If you weigh once a week expecting a certain number and get depressed when you don't see it, then that might not be the way that's right for you.

I weigh myself every day (but only record a loss). I wouldn't be able to stand it to wait for once a week and then see a little number or no change. I've haven't had a loss in 12 days (but who's counting?). I would have had a tough time if I didn't know what was going on and then saw a flat line after a whole week.

I weigh everyday and view the weight fluctuation as an opportunity to learn to be more flexible. It's helping me train my emotions to be more calm and steady and not waver every time the scale goes up and down. I can apply that to other areas of life.

I also get to learn what triggers a few pounds of weight gain. For example, last week I only got around 5 hours of sleep one night. The next day, I gained 2.5 lbs. I've spent almost a week recovering from that gain.

I learned how important sleep is to the weight loss process. If I only weighed once a week, I wouldn't know that.

Don't let anyone here tell you how often you should or should not weigh yourself. Only you can determine that. Different strokes for different folks, ya know? I typically weigh in once a week, but sometimes if I feel I need to check where I'm at I will weight midway for a total of twice a week. Studies show that regular weigh ins increase your chance at successful weight loss. However, regular doesn't mean every day. I don't recommend every day because it can change so much, but it's really up to you. Once a week seems to be best for me so I can actually see a difference when I step on the scale weekly. Good luck :)

I step on the scale multiples times a day to track my progress (it helps me, doesn't mean it works for everyone). I officially weigh once or twice a week (depending on the week). Just remember that the scale will go up and down, depending alot on water weight. Don't get frustrated when you see it because it could drop the next day. I know some people who only weigh every 2 weeks; I can't do that. Make sure to be getting your water, that is the most important thing when it comes to water weight.

I was weighing every day...or more often. It was driving me crazy because my weight really fluctuates. I've started weighing in on Sunday mornings. It's only been two weeks, but so far I like it. For one thing, it makes me a little more aware when I am out Friday and Saturdays. Also, it's been nice to see a loss instead of up down up down. It's kind of fun to have that moment of suspense.

I weigh in daily, and I record daily. I wake up, use the restroom and weigh in. For me, much of this process has been like a science experiment, so I like seeing how my body reacts to things. There are sometime significant fluctuations in my weight from day to day, but it's all about the long term trend (which I can track because I log daily). I now know that I'm very sensitive to both sodium and alcohol. I can see how my hormones affect my weight. For me data = confidence in my decisions. This is not for everyone, but it works for me.

I usually weigh myself once a week, before breakfast (but after toilet) - but since I started this process of losing weight I've been weighing myself twice a week. (Sun + Wed/Thu) I'm usually the patient type, but now I feel like I can't wait for a whole week to see results...
The mid-week weigh-in is less important though. I do log it here on MFP, but not in my home made statistics where I also log weekly average Net cals and Exercise cals.

I weigh in once a week on a Wednesday. It lets some of my bad habits from during the weekend resolve themselves! If I think I have eaten a lot the previous day sometimes I jump on midweek, but generally once a week at the same time, same clothes and same flooring mean that I get an accurate weight loss pattern. I log it once a week and I have had consistent weight loss throughout since the start of Jan (fingers crossed this continues!!))

I do it every day mostly because I am trying to see the effects of varying sodium and water intake issues and trying to fine-tune the validity of my food and exercise values tracking. But I only record weight on the days I lose ;)

Wow.... I didn't know sleep can affect your weight loss... maybe that could be the cause of my 2.5 lb weight gain since Sunday...???!!!

Anyway, I weigh myself every morning (when I can remember) and log it in my iPhone app 'TargetWeight' just to see if I can see a trend & how it relates to my food & exercise diary. I only log the weight on MFP on my official weigh-in day.

I weigh every day or so, but only record my weight once a week as it can fluctuate from day to day. As I start to lose more slowly, I'll probably weigh in every two weeks so I'll be able to appreciate the little movements on the scale.
