Heeeey!

I enjoy eating Afro Caribbean food but would really like some healthier alternatives or healthier ways of making some of my best loved meals. Such as Jollof rice, rice and peas etc.

Basically I am in need of some more Afro Caribbean friends so I can steal your recipes...

Feel free to add me...

What is Afro Caribbean? Haven't heard the term before. I'm Jamaican. I still eat rice and peas, just not often. No way to lighten that up and have it taste the same. I still eat Jamaican food, just not nearly as often as before, and in smaller quantities.

An Afro-Caribbean is an individual of Caribbean descent who can ultimately trace their heritage to Africa. So happy to meet others!

Annalicious - I know exactly what you mean and I'm struggling with the same issues (rice and peas is just not the same without the coconut milk!). I just try to bake instead of fry, make lots of soup, keep away from bread, and save the heavy stuff for special occasions.
