I've had a terrible last few days with constantly over eating and just generally eating crap! And I can't help it! I have no idea what to do. I end up eating loads at night and no matter how much I try I just can't! I have no idea what to do

How long have you been eating better before this little stint?0

Don't beat urself up, it's ok, we all go through that. Pick up where u left off, start slowly though, if u try to do everything at once you'll only dissapoint yourself. Set urself some daily goals like, drinking 8 glasses of water a day, or logging in your food daily, any goal that contributes to your goal. Don't give up, you've already lost 4lbs, thats not easy u should feel proud, pick up that mood a look foward!0

We've all been there before. I agree with the other post. Start slowly, but START!!!. Whenever I feel like that or fall into that rut I always start doing something, even if it is a 20 minute walk. Exercise is what you need to get those endorphins flowing and feeling better. You can do it, just start. :happy:0

I'm just coming out of a similar situation. I'm only just starting to get that confidence in myself that I can get back on track.
Am I right in saying that there are times (like when you wrote this post?) that you are motivated but later in the day that motivation seems like a footnote in your mind?
Like you wake up and tell yourself "Today is going to be a 100% no-cheat day" then at lunch time you just decide to eat that 1000 calorie meal. Then you treat the day as 'blown' so you may as well not try to eat well for the rest of the day?
I know it sounds like woo-woo self-help crap but the old 'Take it one step at a time' really is a helpful concept. What I take it to mean is you need to worry about the small challenges you face when you face them.
Right now you're looking at the whole diet situation and it looks waaaaay too hard. You look at your recent performance in dieting and you know it's not good enough to solve the 'whole diet issue'.
What you should do is only worry about 'the diet issue' when you are faced with temptation and ONLY worry about that single temptation event then and there. Be present minded. Don't think about the big picture so much.0 -
hi, your only 18 and are still growing.your body probably needs a little more than you've been alloted to allow for groth spurts in your youth. your still going through hormonal changes too until your in your 20's. so your probably still doing ok. a few days of eating things that arent normally "diet" foods. but i telln my daughters that no foods bad for you, only bad eating habbits. have a couple of days off and see how you feel in a week. then evaluate your goals and just eat healthier allowing yourself to have the odd bad day and then start each new day as a new start. your really doing well.0

EMURANO is absolutly right!!!
I have found that if I keep celery chopped and ready to snack on I have a much easier time at night when I'm home and bored. Hope that helps.0
