Measuring Pasta

On the box of Catelli Smart Pasta, it says for 1 1/4 cup of pasta it is 330 calories. Is this value for dry pasta or after it's cooked? Cause there is a big difference!

we bought a scale. When it came to pasta the nutrition label gives calories for dry weight. so we weight out that amount and then cooked it according to directions, then drained and weight it again, it had doubled its weight so that is how we measure when serving. Standard cal rating on packages is for 2oz dry weight so we eat 4 oz cooked.

The problem is when you are cooking a big batch of pasta for your family, how do you measure our your serving after it's cooked? I don't want to cook mine in another pot and have MORE dishes to clean!! I wish they would have cooked calories :grumble:

it doubles in weight so just use 4 ounces on your plate... if you don't have a scale, you really should get one.
