Its something you stand at, and contantly step.. it has resistance and its as though you were climbing in a steping motion.
it has differnt setting, as each setting is your own preverance. I did about 11 minutes on a setting i had no idea i was on, lol
and i burned aprox 6 calories.
What is this machine called? because i dont know how to log in on MFP... lol
Thanks To You all who answer!!

PS with this machine, am i toning my buns? even though i burn little calories?

    Is it a stairmaster ??
  • Sounds like a stair stepper and yes it works the glutes and quads. That calorie burn doesn't sound right. I do 12 minutes and burn 200 cals, but I am a big guy.

the calories do sound low...you likely burned around 100 cals.

It is a stair stepper or stair master.

**** Thank you for your suggestion, but i typed it in and nothing.. I could make it a new one and add it myself. i wonder why the calories were so low then?? **** thanks.

Just standing there you would likely have burned 6 calories in that time. I am guess something went wrong in the calorie count as climbing stairs which that machine is attempting to replicate burns a lot of calories.

In MFP when I do the star-mill I use the thing in the database that is "Stair-treadmill ergometer, general". It is the closest thing I could find and the calories are usually about the same as what the actual machine says.

I don't know if it's the same machine, but we have one that's like climbing an escalator going the wrong direction. I use "Stair-treadmill ergometer, general" also.
