Calorie confusion....

I am not sure if this really counts as calorie confusion. MFP set my calorie goal at 1810. Most days I eat 1300-1500. Once or twice a week I eat 1700-1800. Is this a good idea?

Oh and I had surgery end of December and have not yet been cleared for exercise so right now I am just calorie counting.

Meh...why not eat the 1800? I'd love to eat 1800 and lose. It's okay if you don't do it every day but there's not reason to create such a large deficit if you don't need to.

Sounds great. The only requirement to lose is the deficit-still you want to incorporate strength training as soon as possible, to minimize muscle loss while you're losing.

As long as you're continuing a deficit then it's fine. But I'm with her ^^^... If I was aloud that much, I'd eat it

For me those numbers work great, though I am at 1200 rather than 1300-1500 on my lower days. Not much activity over here either.

I'm in the camp of trying something and if it works with your goals and lifestyle, continue. If three weeks go by and the scale is not moving or you are hungry all the time, switch things up.

I will be doing strength training as soon as I am able. I had surgery 3 weeks ago and have not been cleared.
