With 4 kids im sure your active lol Look into a weight gain calculator online figure out calorie demands your RMR etc. what your burning and how much you need to consume per day to reach your goal. Worked for me I was 195 now I'm 2060

To gain weight you need to eat in a calorie surplus. Have you tried using a TDEE calculator to see how many calories you should be eating to gain weight?
Try this one if not: http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ and choose the 'clean bulk' option for weight gain.
If you struggle to reach your required calorie intake because you can't eat enough, aim for calorie dense foods to help you reach your calorie goals, without adding much food bulk, e.g. full fat dairy, cheese, butter, coconut oil, avocado, nuts/nut butters.0 -
Iv just been using this app and putting all my foods into, it says I should eat like 2330 or something like that, but I haven't gained anything.0

Are you putting everything you eat into mfp so you know you are reaching your calorie goal daily or possibly assuming or averaging many times?0
-
Yes I am putting it into mfp.0
-
Ok. How long have you been at this?0
-
Well Iv been really trying since the 1st, I mean I tryed before but wasn't really dedicated0

you need to keep increasing calories until you gain ...a calculator is just a calculator..the only way to find out is to keep eating until you gain ..
I started bulking in October on 2750 calories a day and now I am at 3150 a day and gaining .5 pound per week....0 -
eat more.
add 250 calories
wait 3 weeks- if you see a gain- stay there at that number- if no gain- add another 150 calories.
- Wait 3 weeks
- gaining? stay there
- not gaining- add 150 calories0 -
Thanks for the advice guys:)0

Just a thought but have you tried heavy lifting and more protein and less cardio?0
-
I don't exercise really except running after 4 kids lol
I do squats once in a while, I also add protein to some of my shakes.0 -
you should be lifting some actual weight. (not just body weight squats)
you might have to drop the cardio down.0 -
Do you get to a gym? If not look into getting a few weights. I have an adjustable kettle bell and do a lot of exercises with that. You want to put on muscle weights and protein is the way to go.
Good luck.0 -
