I've only been 40 for about 9 months now and I am in the best shape of my life. Maybe the changes come later?

40 wasn't so bad for me...however 43 everything flipped upside down! couldn't lose weight like I used to! no more magic formula! and opalsqueak is right! 50! WHOA! :o
I turned 55...half a century plus half a decade! at the end of 2014. Thought there was NOTHING that I could do. Pretty much gave up...kept watching the scale go higher and higher! Convinced my husband (who is 8yrs younger) to use MFP food tracker since his numbers were also climbing. After a week of watching him lose, decided to try food tracking again. It's working!! :D So far this week, I've lost 3 pounds! No suffering! Just food tracking and making sure I'm making good food choices! From the men's side....he says lower testosterone is an issue for him as well as some of his friends.

I took five or so years off from training between the ages of 38 and 43. What I noticed is that I injure easier, stay injured longer, and have to rely on my training knowledge to keep training on schedule and to keep those gains coming. Went I went back to this lifestyle (since '89) I knew I'd have to be humble, but still, I get new doses of humility quite often.
