Do energy drinks slow down weight loss?

Options
The particular Energy Drink in question here is Monster's Ultra Red.
MyFitnessPal's Nutrional Info on it: myfitnesspal.com/food/calories/monster-energy-ultra-red-147184317
Now, I understand that energy drinks only provide a very modest increase to the metabolism.
But, since I would be providing my body with another source of energy does this decrease the amount of energy (calories) my body will use for other events such of exercising and simply living?

No, but the sodium could cause you to retain water.

Are you referring to metabolic increases from caffeine? Caffeine releases fatty acids for fuel during exercise however if you drink caffeinated beverages often you build a tolerance. The metabolic increases are virtually negligible for weight loss in comparison to exercise and better nutrition.
