my name is May and I am a mom of 1. I lost 70 lbs 3-4 years ago and regained after many obstacles came my way. Been trying to lose 90 lbs for a year now and it's kind of depressing that I still haven't done it. I'm back now with a vengeance trying to get my old self back and give myself life again. I haven't been living I've just been sitting around moping about life. I'm tired of feeling upset about it and time to just do something to change it.

This last 2-3 weeks was a good start. I cut out majority of all white processed carbs, processed food, dairy, salt, and sugar. honestly I did a good job aside from a few random slip ups.
I was heavily addicted to coffee previous to 2-3 weeks and now I have officially broken that habit!

This week is focusing more on continuing to eliminate more junk and clean up my diet but this time no slip ups and add exercising.

Anyone here with similar goals or on a similar road ?

Yes! My goal is 30 lbs, and in 15 days on here, I've already lost 5. I am mainly vegan with occasional ovo-lacto lapses. Trying to clean up my diet so it's heavy on nutrition and low on junk, because I'm a sugar addict. I'm 53 and feeling so achy all the time. I was amazed that after a week on here watching my sugar/refined foods intake, the aches and pains are GONE. Now that's motivation. I admit I haven't given up coffee, but I've cut back to 3 cups a day.

I think the friends on here is what makes it work. I feel accountable because I let people see my food diary and have friends to chat with.

Right now, I'm sort of sick of cooking, so I'm looking for ideas for 5-minute vegan meals. My current favorites are zucchini noodles (I just bought a Veggetti) with green onions and marinara, canned pinto beans (rinsed) microwaved with frozen spinach, salt and pepper, hummus on whole wheat piled with shredded carrots or coleslaw mix.

I'd love to chat about health-focused, vegan food ideas and help each other with motivation, so add me if you like.

Hi :) I also want to get in shape but not so much to lose weight just 2 kg (I am 50 kg now) and I want to be more muscular.I am vegan and I eat cooked food most of the time.I was wondering is drinking coffee bad for losing weight ( I read that it increases your cortisol, the stress hormone).Should I drink only tea ? Thank you !

Hi, I'm returning to fitness pal after some time away, have had terrible eating habits due to my job over the past year but have just changed jobs and am ready to get some weight off again! I've been vegan for two and a half years, but I am a bit of a junk food vegan :-O so it's time to cut my calories down to force myself into eating nutrient dense foods with less calories
