What a difference a month makes!

I was getting kinda bummed that in one month, I've only lost 2.6 pounds. Then I measured myself and found I'd lost 1 1/2 inches in my hips, 1/2 in in my chest(bye-bye back fat) and 1 inch in my belly!!! While the results aren't coming as fast as I'd like(I want it gone NOW), I can't be too upset with that progress:)

That is really awesome!!! Even if the number isn't where you want it right now, you can still see significant progress. Keep up the good work!!!!
  • We all want to lose it NOW! But every little bit counts! Great job! :)

Those inches is what to look for. You are shedding the body fat. Unfortunately the scale doesn't know the difference between body fat and lean muscle loss. You are doing well. Keep it up.

Just remeber, you did not put the weight on overnight. That is awesome progress, though. Keep it up.

    Hi,

Well done and listen to this! In three months I've only lost 8lbs, but my PT has been monitoring my body fat/muscle mass ratio. He weihged me and did the calculation this week. I've actually lost 13lbs of fat and gained 8lbs of muscle!

I'm cool with that because my fat/muscle ratio was all wrong and I needed to gain muscle for my walk in the summer, but I'm where I want to be now.

So, I stay on my current calories, my muscle gain will slow down but my fat burning should speed up.

My point? Keep taking your measurements. I bet you're losing more than you think, but you're also gaining muscle and changing your body shape.

I welcome the day when we're all freed from the tyranny of the scales!

Keep up the good work xxxxx

I started in Jan. with a work out..I weighed and measured myself..unfortunately...I didn't do the before pics...I have pics of me at that starting weight but not angles that will show the loss...in 12 weeks (ten of working out minus 1 for a car accident and 1 for a vacation) I lost 10 pounds and over 10 inches. My clothes are getting loose where as in Jan...I was afraid of bending over. I've just been using MFP for just over 2 weeks and have lost 4 pounds. Wow..hadn't realized that..but yep..it takes time....Good Luck!
    Take pics!
