I'm 53 soon to be 54 been ill since I was 26 and my mother passed away.
Some people inherit money I inherited Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia and I'm pre-diabetic with high cholesterol. I take Humira, Prednisone and Methotraxate.
Preds make you look like Ms. Piggy in distress and your hungry all the time.
I'm tired of being sick and tired and tired of looking like Ms. Piggy looking for a fitness friend that knows what it's like to be sick and can relate to how hard the journey is to lose weight, being sick and being on weight gaining drugs but is willing to try to lose weight to gain back the life they once had.
Thanks

Its straightforward but a lot of it is about your mindset. You need to understand whats involved, commit to doing it over a sustained period and then focus every day on what you are doing and why. In the long run consider it taking 2 years as a rough estimate. Get the basics right and then focus on small targets i.e the first 1lv , logging, ten minutes walk a day etc.
Weigh your food and log accurately.
Do some exercise whateve you can manage.
Be your own best friend.
Dont demonise food.
Be smart and learn.
Commit and take responsibility.
Be patient and even if you falter then make more good choices than bad.
Good luck0 -
Hey Jones, I hear what you're saying. I am kind of in the same boat as you. I am almost 52 and I've been dealing with adrenal issues and fibromyalgia for about 12 yrs. I have been on hydrocortisone for almost 5 yrs, so I know the steroids help with energy and pain, but keep you plump. Even though I have always loved exercising, esp outdoors, it is rare for me to exercise in these past yrs because it causes a lot of pain and I had zero energy.
I am not at all trying to cry about all my woes to you, but only trying to say that I can relate to you somewhat. So, I have just been working hard on my nutrition and trying to get healthy. I am just now able to walk slowly for about 15 min or so every now and then, but for yrs I could not do this at all. So, you just do what you can, when you can. You will mainly have to lose weight by controlling what you eat and how much since exercise may be out of the question for now. But the way I see it, for every pound thay I lose, that is one less pound to drag me down and one less pound I have to carry with me. Eventually, we will have less pounds to carry and that means less pain and less fatigue.
Feel free to friend me if you want to. I know what it's like when people say, "Oh, you just need to exercise more," or whatever. It's because they just haven't walked in the shoes of someone in chronic pain and fatigue. They don't mean any harm. You just have to try and take the best care of yourself as you can, how you can. Best wishes to you!0
