Just posting to get some advice about how to change up my workout to get the best results. I usually do a 30 min on the treadmill as part of my work out but am curious to know doing 5 min run 1 min walk intervals will be beneficial?

Is it best to run intervals or continuously for 30 mins?

I RUN INTERVALS AS WELL AS DO INTERVALS ON ELLIPTICAL. I ONLY DO IT 2-3 TIMES A WEEK THOUGH AS THIS IS HARD ON YOUR BODY. I JUST RECENTLY STARTED THIS AND FEEL THAT IT REALLY CHALLENGES ME. I DON'T GET BORED, AND ALSO I HAVE READ ALOT OF ARTICLES AND DONE SOME RESEARCH THAT INTERVAL TRAINING BURNS 2X'S THE FAT! IT BURNS MORE AFTER THE WORKOUT THAN THE TRADITIONAL WAY. MY INTERVALS USUALLY ARE WARM UP 3 MIN. THEN I RUN FOR A MINUTE AS FAST AS I CAN, THEN WALK FOR A MINUTE AND A HALF, THEN REPEAT FOR DURATION OF TIME. GOOD LUCK!

I have read it is best to shorten up your interval times but make them more intense, for example if you run at 6 mph normally you may want to run at 9 mph for 90 seconds and rest 60 seconds and repeat 8 - 10 times.
