There are so many great people here that there will definitely be others on the very same journey as you and will be able to support you and go along the journey with you!!

I am only 33, but I had a complete hysterectomy last year. I was on estrogen until right after Christmas, when my dr wanted me to discontinue. My weight is not all from the sudden menopause, but I am curious to know how much harder it will be to lose it. I guess we will see!
  • Hi yes I hit menopause and also have low thyroid and just 3 months ago my T3 low bottomed up caused me to gain 25 lb unbelievably fast.. I never had this hard of time trying to lose. It just not coming off.. Need any help I can.

Hi! I began perimenopause around 39 and got through it successfully with the use of vitamins/minerals/supplements. Weight problems? Irritability? Hot Flashes? HA HA I laughed!!! But being post-menopausal, WOW, whole other story. Within two months I called my gyn for an appt, I waited another four for that appointment, (I'm a Veteran), but I got my Prempro.

My metabolism definitely changed when I became post menopausal. I now must work three times as hard to lose weight, and twice as hard to keep a good weight maintained. I've been through other metabolism changes before. At 35 I realized that it had slowed, my response was to learn to eat smaller portions. This happened again at 45, and I learned to eat still smaller portions. Of course at 50 I did the same thing, but it has not been enough. More activity is needed, thrice times. Harsh reality. I'm 54 years old.

Oh, and yes I am dealing with the Winter 10 again just like last year, it's every bit the *kitten* to lose and keep off as it's been for the last few.

Hi and welcome! There are LOTS of women (including myself) experiencing menopausal related weight loss and health issues here. There are a few different groups that are active here, where women know what you're dealing with. Here's one!
