When do you think is the best time to take progress pictures or measurements? Once a month, every 10 pounds, every three months? I'd like to hear your feedback.

i get and take measurements every Monday. And pictures. But mark points are every ten pounds :) That is the nice pictures i make. The Monday pictures are all made in the gym.
    and i weigh every day.
I like it that way, i think it all comes down to personal preferences.

It's definitely a preference. I'm taking one progress picture a month and taking measurements once every two weeks.

It's a short enough span of time that I can remain motivated for making progress but also long enough that I can (hopefully) see a substantial amount of progress between each measurement or picture.

Every 10 lbs or every month would be good. You should also take them if you stop losing. That's what happened to me, i stopped losing for 3 weeks, but when I compared my face (see profile pic) it motivated me to keep going because I could see that I was still losing.

Thanks for the input - I think I'll try for every once a month for a while & see how it goes, although taking pictures even when you stop losing IS a good idea.

It depends on how much you have to lose! Every ten pounds seems better than monthly to me, because it means something. It's a ten pound drop - "This is what I looked like at 170...and this is me at 160..."

Looking back on dates? "This was me on March 12...and this is me on April 12" --- you can't make anything out of that, really, KWIM?

But whatever you do will be great, I'm sure. :)

Taking pictures every 3 months so the change is more drastic. It's also fun to brag to friends when it's significant

Don't have a full length mirror at home so when I feel like taking a progress pic I would use the one at the spa room Suite at the office office complex. It is far few and between but each set has been a few pant size difference. Day 1 was size 66 and last set of pics was size 32.

I don't take progress pictures anymore (I'm too lazy, what can I say?), but when I did so, I would take them each month on the same date. Same with measurements, which I do take on the first of every month and input them into an excel spreadsheet.

It works for me, but as others mentioned, it's personal preference. :)

Good question! I think I'm going to do pictures once a month (ish) and try to coordinate it with an even round pound loss if possible.

I'm trying to do photos once a month, but only started it when I'd already lost most of the weight, unfortunately. I started measuring earlier, but do it more whimsically, probably also about once a month. Every 2 weeks seems reasonable too.

I know the weights that go with the measurements and photos, as I keep a daily running log of morning weights in a calendar. For observing change while losing what I found most helpful was buying various sizes of the same brand and style of jeans and going from size to size. I'm hoping the photos will keep me motivated to make progress as it becomes less focused on scale changes.
