So a UK government body has released the 'This Girl Can' campaign, to try and encourage women into fitness (you can watch the video here:

What do you think? I have mixed feelings about it (which are echoed across the media). While the promotion of fitness is of course a positive thing, the way they are getting the message across seems rather patronising, particularly by using the word 'girl', and there are certainly elements making it about sex, not sport.

Seems like an empowering ad for women, so i don't see what the problem is. All advertising is patronizing on some level. We don't have to hide that people do things for sex & companionship.
