Hey everyone, this is my first time joining MFP, and I hope I can meet some amazing people to help me and vise versa!
So..about me. I'm 24 years old, 145 pounds and currently in school. I lost 100 pounds and have hit my goal..except my stomach is an issue. I don't know what to do about it!
if anyone could be kind enough to give me tips on how to tone it up I'd be grateful!
Here is a picture of my stomach taken earlier today. Sorry to disgust anyone! I just want to tone it up ): I hate it.

Time. Seriously. You just lost a lot of weight, you're young and you need to wait for your skin to tighten up. It totally will because you have youth on your side. Just keep eating healthily and working out.0

I cant tell if it's only loose skin or fat? I believe it's mainly fat, and my inner thighs seem to be loose skin. But that loose skin seems to effect how my fat distributes on my stomach.
I don't even know if I make sense.0 -
You look fantastic!0

Never ever ever ever ever apologize for what your body looks like. The human body is an amazing and unique thing that does so much for us and no matter how "digusting" you think it looks it is an incredible gift.
You look great and I just want to give you kudos on your loss, 100 pounds is so much!
I agree with what others have said that it takes time. Your body will adjust just continue to eat healthy foods, get all your nutrients, and do a nice mixture of cardio and strength training.
And pat yourself on the pack from me0 -

Lift weights!
That's the only way that helped me with not having loose skin anymore!0 -

I agree. I too have shed over 100lbs and I also have excess skin around my abdomen. A combination of eating healthy, cardio and ab work is having an effect in reducing it, but it is a slow process that takes time. I have accepted that I will never have the stomach I had when I was 24 (I'm 52 now) but part of shedding weight is learning to accept yourself, no matter how you look. The success is the weight shedding and the benefits and additional years you have given yourself, not necessarily how much, or little, loose skin you have afterwards. Your new look will only disgust those who do not deserve your friendship or love anyway. I know how difficult it is to shed such a large amount of weight and you have my admiration for doing it. Smile at yourself when you look in the mirror and be happy for what you have achieved...you are amazing for achieving it!0 -
Here's what I've learned from research on here:
Exfoliate once a day to remove dead skin cells, and to help elasticity.
Drink lots of water to keep skin hydrated
Moisturise, for same reasons above
Lift weights to help elasticity and to replace some of the empty room with muscles.
As I said I haven't done this personally this is just what I've read here.
But you look fantastic!0 -

Everything Milenac93 wrote and especially these lines!
It'll take time just like your weight loss did initially. Xxxxx

All I could see when I opened this pic was curves for days! I could not see what you describe. You have a very cute figure. Way to go on losing 100 lbs!
But since you can see it, or know it's there and it's something you want to improve....
As far as skin elasticity goes, it's mostly genetics, but if you are 24 (like your post says, and not 35 like your profile says), youth is on your side. It may take some time for your skin to catch up.
Take great care of yourself diet and exercise wise, and treat your skin well. Do some strength training and aerobic exercise, eat to maintain your weight, and moisturize your skin with massage type movements. Exfoliate now and then.
If it doesn't improve (not completely resolve) in the next 6 months, you may want to seek out a med-spa to see what options they have. DermRolling may increase your collagen production, but make sure you weigh the risks vs. benefits before doing anything like that.
Also, many ladies report having good success with foundation garments that compress like Spanx, or other brands of compression garments. Wear one everyday and see if it helps.0 -
