I need some advice on training for a marathon relay that I'm doing in July! If you have any ideas for training let me know! :)

Is it a single hand off or do you two rotate off every so often (like switch every 6.55 miles)? I'd suggest looking up the course and if you can look up the elevation for the course (a lot of courses put up the elevation profile these days it seems) then try to replicate what you'll be running. If it is hilly, definitely make sure to practice running hills.
  • I trained for a marathon and the best way for me was every 20 min of running drink few ounces of water, if your running more than 10 miles interval training is the best.. Example run/jog 5 min than walk 1 min use a watch that tracks intervals and chrono! Carry a pouch with orange or apple slices for energy and have some every few miles! Should train at least 3 times a week with longer runs at least once a week to get your body used to it and have GREAT running shoes it really makes a difference. If you are going to be training alot than get about a half size bigger in shoes also! Hope all this helps. I just started training for a full marathon in October.

Hey thank you guys for the suggestions! I'm excited to start. And I believe ill have to run about 7 or 8 miles on a mountain. It's supposedly a really challenging race. It makes me nervous but I think I can do it, I cant let my older brother beat his little sister haha
