treadmill blues

What are some ways to make the treadmill a little less boring? And is the any benefit to holding weights while you are on the treadmill?

    I know the feeling. I hate the treadmill...but now that it's cold and dark when I get up and can't run outside by myself (and don't really want to)...it's my only choice. I find that challenging myself a little more, or in a different way, helps break it up. Thursdays I do the hill program while running. It's partially because I'm training for a race with a big hill, but also just to break up my program. I think trying weights is a great idea! Maybe work on how many bicep curls you can do...or finding a rhythm. I see lots of people using weights on the treadmill. I would look online for some more ideas!
