Newbie looking for motivation and support

Hi everyone. I am a 46 year old NE Ohio mom trying to get back into shape. I've not been able to do much for a couple of years due to years of chronic pain and medical issues. I have literally been stuck in a rut where I couldn't do anything because of pain, which caused me to be sedentary, which led to more issues and more pain, which led to depression and making poor diet choices. It's been a vicious cycle... I couldn't be active because I was hurting, I was hurting because I couldn't be active.
In five years I have put on over 120 pounds! Two years ago I switched doctors and we've been working on things one step at a time. I finally completed physical therapy and aquatic therapy before the holidays. I figured that wasn't a great time to start a lifestyle change so I waited for the new year. Then I looked around for a group online and came across this one and here I am.
Now that my physical condition has improved significantly, I'm able to function well daily, and off the pain meds, I'm determined to get fit! But I know I'm going to have set backs and it's not going to be easy. Hoping to find someone here who can offer encouragement back and forth for each other.
Thanks for reading

Hi Sheddit! Welcome to MFP. I'm 42 year old mom and been on this yoyo ride for a long time. Like you I was on a never-ending vicious cylce. This year is different, I feel different, like I know what I need to do and I'm going to do it. I'm sure I'll have ups and downs, but no more excuses. Would love to have you as a friend to offer support and motivation. Please add me if you like. Good luck on your new journey!0
