MFP is a given
1. Education - Making the effort to educate myself about nutrition, fitness and health through MFP, scientific sources, etc. so that I can make informed decisions about what is best for me.
2. Scheduling - Eating on schedule and the correct amount of food, regardless of "hunger"
3. Planning - Planning meals and snacks and thinking ahead about what food choices I will make
4. Developing a healthy relationship with food - there is no "bad" or off-limits food, just as there is nothing that I MUST eat. Refusing to let food have power over me. I have the power, I make the choices. I eat whatever I want, and recognize that for some things the cost will be higher than for something else - and I determine whether that cost is worth it or not and make a conscious choice.
5. Habits - Figuring out what strategies I can live with long term. Changing a behavior means nothing if it's not something that I can physically AND mentally choose to do on a regular basis. Some are harder than others, but ultimately it's about sustainability.0 -
