I'm a avid ballet dancer and just seeing if anyone else might have some helpful tips for staying lean

  • Hello & Welcome to MFP!

Professional or for leisure? Do you pas de deux?

hmmm this is a tough one because typically I'd recommend heavy doses of lean protein and heaping of veggies (not iceberg lettuce sort of veggies) like spinach, broccoli, kale. And keep complex carbs to a minimum.

However since you are a dancer, you need a good level of carbs for energy.

Perhaps you may want to adjust your macros to protein / carbs (even %) then whatever is left on fats. Also if you do a lot of partnering work, strength training will also help.

    Best of luck to you!

Hi I love any type of dance, anything that gets the heart rate going, I'm new on ere too add me :)
  • Yay! I'm new as well! This is already a fun app!
  • And I do a lot of partnering being the only male at the studio. I do lyrical hip hop jazz etc. my macros are protein and carbs are 35%, my fat intake is around 30% my metabolism is super fast.
  • Also I'm finding hard to add people? Is there a certain way to do it from here?

Does Zumba count? Haha! I'm not a professional dancer but I do Zumba 3-4 times a week!

I dance with a dance entertainment group where we do a mixture of all sorts of styles but mainly contemporary/commercial. I love dancing, wish I'd had the opportunity to go professional.
